SharpenRake
Wood strengthens the Monarchs. Can't see the Tigers repeating their Cup victory. Need to try and keep it tight and hope for the bonus point.

Neither were great last time but improved performances could win us the meeting. Edited April 24 by Beirao
TheWellBehavedWorrall
Not confident of a win this time around. I thought it was obvious at Armadale a few weeks ago and at Shielfield on Saturday that Boughen is still suffering from that crash at Kings Lynn, so I’m not expecting much from him, especially given it’s a hip injury and Armadale is tight. Flint is the biggest concern. He needs to contribute more; it’s essential if we’re to succeed, but two underwhelming performances so far give a poor indication. Having said that, I would love nothing more than to have egg on my face tomorrow night. If Hodder and Perry score a couple each, they’ve done their job, but given Perry’s performance at Berwick, who knows? Harris, Howarth and Thompson will each need to score double figures (again) to accommodate the above.
MB723
Should be close might depend on if Polis gets going, R/R for him scored 7+1 in the Scottish Cup so he'll probably have to match that especially if Leon and Ashton are stronger. Personally don't think you should be able to use guests from teams in the same group, Edinburgh will probably want to use one of the Glasgow reserves at Berwick if they can. While I agree with that idea, at least in this case I think it's suits Berwick if Edinburgh win on Friday, gives Berwick the best chance of winning the group (however unlikely). Weeyin
Well off to my second trip to Armadale to follow the tigers, tac subs allowed in this event, if needed, however with Victor at reserve and can have 7 rides the pressure is on Glasgow , hopefully it will be an exciting and close match
Mr Blobby
Can still see Glasgow winning this all be it by a small margin. Depends on how Polis goes for us imo.

A young enthusiastic local Scottish lad is surely worthy of a bit encouragement. Monarchs are likely to be quite strong at #6 all season anyway so Stene's job would "only" be to score 2 points against other reserves and it's job done. Possibly there may be other NL alternatives from further south who may be available and may be willing to travel but question is would anyone else be likely to contribute more than 2 -3 points per match. Just a thought.

Just a thought. Actually a very valid point from a business view. If whoever is signed is likely to 0-3 points a meeting is the logic that more local and hence less travel costs the most practical solution. Certainly Southern based alternatives like Springer, Vale or Scott would be more expensive (based purely on the number of home meetings). The other option would be to wait until Marson is released by Poole and sign him on.

TheWellBehavedWorrall
What happened to Harris in heat one? Miles ahead, then almost appeared to look at Grahn to allow him past.

He battled for and earned every single point. What a performance from Thompson and Howarth. Outstanding. Boughen too and again, Flint. The two reserves had a nightmare, but they’ll learn from evenings like this. This is the benefit of having a strong top five; the youngsters are protected and have time, opportunity and a platform to develop with experience. Harris must have had bike issues. There’s no other explanation for how slow, off the pace and underwhelming he was.
Bagpuss
From 360 miles away that looks like a rum old choice of Monarchs for heat 15.
Paulco
So if we go to Armadale and beat the Monarchs in the league , do we get to keep them ? Asking for a friend
geoff100
Why wasnt the pole in ht 15 ,sedgeman poor tonight!
JanAndersen
The dugs in the street knew what was going to happen in ht15 with those selections. If Paco is pulling rank in the pits then it's poor - ht13 he couldn't get close to an underperforming Harris so how was he getting near Howarth or Thompson? Polis was the obvious choice. Losing at home when getting a combined 13 from your reserves raises questions. I'll give Sedgmen a pass as that's an unusual performance. Thomson though is simply not good enough at no.3 - he could genuinely find himself at no.6 shortly which actually might not be the worst thing! On a positive note, Grahn is improving race by race, Polis looks a proper racer and Palovaara (while against poorer riders) is smashing his average.
