Redcar v Workington BSN Series

No thread for last weeks so thought I better start one this week.

Bears have Rowe guesting in place of Riss which you would think would weaken them, but the rest of the team all rode well last week so hopefully that will continue.

Workington have riders who have scored well at Redcar in the past but might be a bit short on practice. 
 

Hard to predict this one.

Batch usually goes well there but most of the team are lacking race fitness , hopefully the lads can give a good account of themselves and put up a fight .

Hard to tell from last week whether it was Redcar were good or Scunthorpe were not.

I would expect Rowe to still score well but maybe not as well as Riss. 

Key will be the middle order/reserves again. Last week Edwards/Mulford/Pijper were excellent - same again and should be a Bears win.

I think last week you guys were generally way slicker out of the starts . Because there was very little moisture in the track it appeared that there was not the usual outside line. Hopefully a bit more moisture tonight and we can gate a bit better than the Scorps did 🤞😃

Redcar excellent tonight! Solid performance from 1-5. Great choice of guest in Rowe, he scored what Erik would have on a very slick track.

Wright's ride in fifteen was worth the admission alone. He found speed where no one else could. 

The Comets no doubt where race rusty but they will sharpen up with more matches.

Vinnie Foord taken no time to get back to it I see, fair play.

Comfortable win for a 5 man Bears team in the end.

Not a great meeting - took ages to get going, medical emergency, faulty tapes and two crashes in the first 2 heats meant it took an age to run the first few races. Horrible crash in heat 2 after Foord/Spencer got tangled and Pijper ran over Spencer. Be surprised if we see either of the Bears reserves tomorrow.

Rowe was an excellent guest and Mulford and Edwards continued their good home form. Wrights pass in Heat 15 was the highlight of the night on a slick track.

For the Comets there were flashes from Zischke and Bowes. Batchelor was his usual self, fine if he gated, gave up if he didn’t.

Bit of a worry how Danny King just tailed off?He scores double figures for Ipswich, but has not really produced for Redcar.

Well done the Bears whose top 5 were stronger than Comets tonight. Gating was generally crucial and like last week not a drop of water went onto the track during what turned out to be an extended meeting. Great ride from Charles Wright who bust a gut to unsettle Batch and execute a fine pass in heat 15. Congratulations to Fraser Bowes on his first heat win in British Speedway , a much improved start from the young Aussie resulted in a tapes to flag win over a previously unbeaten Anders Rowe. Tate was looking more like his old self as the meeting wore on, won't be long until he takes the chequered flag in front. Jye took a hefty fall after being the meat in the sandwich on turn one heat 1 , hope he isn't too bashed about.

Bit harsh but I would say the difference between his first and last 2 outings were rather stark. Pretty sure I heard Danny say he likes a bit of grip to work with. Tracks are generally ultra slick but that's Speedway here for you in 2025.

Promoters have to realise gate and go speedway will kill the sport and  alot of that appears to be how tracks are being prepared. There was not much to help racers in the track tonight, same as last week and Redcar is one of the better tracks for entertainment.

Hope young Tom and Ace are okay.

Riders cant handle dirt ( shale) on tracks these days if only they knew the throttle works both ways !
