A new house in Paisley means that it’s a non starter.

Illegal immigrants are knocking back staying in Paisley.

Nothing wrong with Paisley , some of us have to live there lol

There needs to be a cap on what clubs are offering these young riders ( wage wise ) as there getting top dollar money but aren't delivering ( some of them ) & yet a rider who's got years of experience behind... Not mentioning any names had to drop out of racing in the NDL as he was only offered a pittance... The speedway game in the UK is dying big time ... & I've supported the sport for over 50 years but it's on the big decline sadly

All 3 leagues wages are capped to a limit, if they get more it’s usually through sponsorship Glasgow Riders get paid in full every Monday after a meeting they have great facility’s plenty track time when wanted that’s a big thing for a rider these days

Ruined the league ? Seriously? Am I missing something here ? What's the point of entering a competition if you don't use every tool at your disposal to try and win it ?

It’s Glasgow’s prerogative to spend what they want, I’m not disputing that.

It’s ruined the league by forcing other clubs to live outwith their means, or they just accept that they’re only making up the numbers.

Rider demands have went through the roof since Glasgow started throwing money about. Clubs either need to pay wages they can’t afford, or field a non competitive team… it’s unsustainable for the league.

As you know there’s ways around this “capped wages”. A big juicy signing on fee that other clubs can’t offer for starters Then say for example covering covering travel and flight costs that riders need to partially pay as some clubs do cover some but not all of, all adds up.

All Clubs live within their means or they would close and Glasgow are no different ok their owners have a very well run business and that’s the way they choose to run their club they also spend a fortune on making their track one of the best race tracks in the country just ask any rider that rides there

Did Howarth jump the start in heat 15 because updates said he did.

One KO Cup win and one title win in the past ten years suggests other clubs are more than capable of putting together competitive sides to challenge for honours regardless of budget limitations . If there was no points limit and we could sign seven heat leaders then the spoiling the league argument would have more substance

That’s because we don’t chuck a £10k sign-on fee at them… they’ve ruined the league with their ‘win at all costs’ mentality, other clubs can’t keep up with the money they throw around.

Ruined the league? FFS. Any sports team that doesn’t do their best to win the league is insane. I’m sure Edinburgh were paying minimum wage over the years when they were dominating the league.

No, but they’re subsidised by a multimillion nationwide company and circumstantial evidence (level of attendances, hoovering up UK up emerging talent as opposed to riders past their peak etc)  would indicate that funds are diverted from there to the speedway operation. As stated it’s their business as to how they run it and they’re not committing any crime so good luck to them. Also their redevelopment of the stadium is admirable.

However they seem to relish being big fish in a small pond it what has been termed a “ten pound sport” and as such this is upsetting the overall balance of the competition. Their status would determine that  they should be in the Premiership. Why have they never applied for this .?

Because there's no appetite for it, increase in costs wouldn't be bourne out by any bigger attendances imo (see Birmingham). Also Glasgow's best attendances are on Friday nights, run on a Monday and will only go down
