cheggie
Should be a cracking meeting, as the weather has to clear up and should be fairly warm. With RR, it means everyone can potentially cover Dan's rides and hopefully Tate goes well for us at no.4. Tate scored 7+1 from 5 rides at no.2 last year and I'd take more of the same tonight please. szkocjasid
What do Redcar fans think of Etheridge guesting? I think r/r would be the better option: King, Edwards, Mulford & Pijper or Scott. Two riders stronger, 2 riders weaker (although Mulford isn't a lot weaker). lukeellis
I thought it was April 1st!! Is that really the best rider available? His average is below 5, replacing a heat leader.Another away defeat.

Have you ever been a team manager? Looking for a guest to ride on a Friday night ? In Glasgow ? With 6 teams in action ? 4

I'm afraid I think this could be a banana skin for the Tigers. If all the bears ride at their 'Ashfield best' the tigers could be in trouble particulalry as they are without Leon Flint and Dan Thompson. I don't blame Redcar for not getting a stronger guest than Etheridge (maybe no-one else was available), my only question is, once no stronger option were available should they still use a guest over r/r. As for "another away defeat" Glasgow are one of the strongest teams in the league, wouldn't be a shock of they won all of their remaining home league fixtures. Redcar look good for a top 4 place, but will want to pick up an away win somewhere.
lukeellis
Redcar maybe looked good for a top 4 place before Erik Riss sadly has to take time out again. And also the fact that Mulford is I believe going to miss the next 3 meetings which include home matches against Poole and Glasgow means things don’t look so rosy.Especially if the guest options are as bad as lately.Maybe that’s nobody’s fault but still, that’s the reality. Poole & Glasgow look certain for a top 4 spot, after that the last 2 spots are very open. Wouldn't rule anyone out.

And that's why you don't use r/r unless prepared to bring a no8 with you, someone could get injured or be riding with an injury where they need to withdraw (or ill in this case.) I agree there's a risk, but Redcar's reserves will only get 9 rides between them, using r/r they'd get 10 or 11 (depending if Mulford took a r/r outing before dropping out). While I'd recommend taking a number 8, Redcar wouldn't have needed to use him.
MD
A very good meeting watched by a smaller crowd than normal. Could have gone either way after the ht11 break. I thought this would be the meeting our reserves would really fire. It wasn't but we need then to start shortly with the business end coming soon. Anyway, it was nice to have a July meeting. Paulco
Maybe it's about time we considered moving into the Monday and Thursday league to enable us to track a full side . Once again we are a rider short because of some team GB meeting god knows where . And apparently next weekend is even worse. There are far too many of these weekend meetings abroad now and it is impacting us every week now . Anyway tonight was a decent meeting, well done both sides

They won’t be getting my Admission money.
szkocjasid
I think some people are greatly overlooking Redcar because they're missing Riss. Now of course they are weakened without him. But even counting Wright, King & Edwards as heat leaders, only Glasgow & Poole have a stronger heat leader trio! After tonight feel Scunthorpe & Plymouth are out of the play-offs hunt, but still all to play for with 5 clubs going for the last 2 spots. Robinh88
Really good match tonight. Zischke more than made up for Flint and rode very well indeed Redcar put in a real shift from 1-7. Wright and Edwards being the pick of Redcar. More than got my monies worth and looking forward to going back. Workington tomorrow Edited Friday at 11:53 PM by Robinh88
