ShanoXtra
How are people saying Ipswich is hard to get to but Malilia was on the SGP calendar 😂 that’s the worst place I’ve ever visited to get to. Foxhall you can get buses from the town centre and super easy to drive to. The surrounding area is so big you could have a massive car park and the SGP set up (DJ etc) on it, and probably create a better atmosphere than most other stadiums that just have it in a small location near the stadium. Ipswich would be accessible for all of east Anglia and London, and do Manchester for anyone midlands up. The only problem with Ipswich is the stock car track and not a real sense of being right next to the action. Apart from that, I think Thursday night showed how well you can hold an event, even with the pyros. Chris Louis would know how to hold a SGP event that’s for sure! I would say it’s about 1% chance of happening by though as they would have to clear it with locals, and spedeworth and also foot the 6 figure costing to SGP. But… pack out a 10,000 event at £50 a pop and you could make it profitable. I agree Ipswich could host a GP. It's not as cut off as some stadiums in the series and has the capacity and logistics to host one. The only issue is the track.

The air fence isn’t that’s for sure. I know it’d be a fair few thousand to bring that up to the FIM standard.

For stox the speedway fence is removed - on that basis for a GP would it be possible to lay a temporary track incorporating some of both circuits to provide a larger speedway track closer to the fans? Whats the issue with the air fence? Isn’t it the case that all UK tracks have to comply with FIM regs?

Might even have been this year, I can’t remember. I deffo saw an interview saying they had to pay thousands to update it to comply with regs, Ipswich would be the same. I’ve heard Chris Louis speak on how expensive the FIM uprated air fences are.
