Jack rubbish other than possibly Facebook

When I was there earlier in the season Godfrey was on the mic and said something to the effect of thanking his commercial manager because he doesn't have a clue regarding such things.

If rob chucked loads of money at the team next year I can guarantee we wouldn’t get great crowds if we was successful… .Scunthorpe people are  traditionally tight knackers and won’t pay the going prices..fact.

Crowd tonight was decent imo - and a cracking meeting between the two teams, when isn't Scunny v Redcar a good meeting?

I have heard in the bar this evening a Scorpion has hung the boots up and tonight was his final speedway meeting, but i'll leave that for him to announce when hes ready to do so.

Credit to the Bears! Good luck to them in the playoffs and all the semi finals and finals their in.

It does seem weird wishing people a Merry Christmas in August....

Interesting to hear 3 lads from Hull who came to the EWR tonight to have a look because they had seen the scrap from Redcar last week on social media

I also noticed people I knew from Hull who I'd never seen at Scunny, or any track, before Friday, hope they enjoyed what they saw.  Some good racing, one or two incedents to talk about and - pretty sure I've never seen a 5-0 to each side in the one match. You can ever really tell with speedway, not 100%, keeps the sport interesting....

its not just scunny

speedway prices are not atractive for new comers and even some hardened fans cant justify the cost

The previous season when we had a proper no 1 and doing fairly well playoffs winning the cup I would hazard a guess that rob only broke even…I doubt if he got better riders that the crowds would flock to the ewr for him to be able to be to afford the quality riders that the diehard fans crave..he does well to keep us running tbf

Says it all when half the riders didn't turn up in the bar after the meeting including Godfrey don't give a dam about the supporters who turn up every week to see the same crap

A team of second strings and reserves was never going to have a good season. When building a team you need to look for riders who are likely to improve their averages. This was unlikely as Lambert, Allen, Worrell and Mountain's averages have been the same for years. There was always a doubt about Zaine and Declan in first season back and first season respectively. Only Harrison was likely to improve which has proved the case.

There are just enough number ones to go round. There needs to be some rider control for the good of all speedway and each team allocated a number one so as to give all teams a chance and more competitive competition.

Godfrey has been very quite all year, I thought he might have thanked the fans after a difficult season.

Which riders didn't turn up in bar?

Zaines average went up 0.94

Declans went up 0.64

Harrison went up 0.6

mountain went up 0.56

These are a bit misleading because every riders average should of gone up by 0.36 due to the team limit being 40 rather than 42.5.
