Hawkins made it known to the ref about Douglas potentially going over the white line with both wheels and he didn't give a s**t You’re right he did. He asked him to “take a look at it” but he didn’t wanna know.

Open to interpretation I guess as to what constitutes 'inner edge of the track' Compared to the FIM regs: "If a rider crosses the white inside line fully with both wheels or leaves the circuit, they are adjudged to have retired from the race – unless they left the track to take essential avoiding action (e.g. to avoid a fallen rider)." I think the interpretation of the 'crosses the inner edge of the track' will be the same as 'crosses the white line fully with both wheels' In any case, the ref wasn't interested! I think most people have always understood it to be as per the FIM regs, and I suspect refs over here use that as their interpretation. I suspect the ref on Monday wasn't interested because it wasn't conclusive Perhaps the UK rule is written differently to accommodate situations such as Belle Vue having a raised kerb, so you can’t fully cross the white line without crossing the inner edge of the track. I agree regarding interpretation. I've always been concerned with the lack of any physical kerb at King's Lynn - I remember being on the centre when racing was taking place and feeling distinctly vulnerable to a bike ploughing into me off the second bend at full pelt. I'm surprised no-one has ever raised that as a H&S issue!
Bagpuss
Personally I think the whole 'on their phones' comment by Dickson has been blown way out of proportion, for me the point he was trying to make was that some of his riders had their heads down and needed cajoling hence the team meeting. Despite how he prepares his track when we race there I have a lot of time for him, you always get honesty when he speaks and he is always very gracious to the opposition. He wears his heart on his sleeve and I'd suggest if a microphone gets put under his nose while feelings are running high during a Play Off final then you will probably hear something a bit juicy, probably why TNT did that.

I am always amazed that at a tense part of the meeting Abbi stands there with her mic going shall we try and get a word with x - I think i'd be saying sod off to her!
