Yep Louis has tried to do the right thing all down the line but has been caught in forty years of bad decisions finally breaking the bridge everything stood on. Can't see a way out now I think thats it for the premiership unless a bodge can be done on club number six and they can talk Louis round I really can't see anyone wanting to buy it given 33% of the prem want out , it will most likely shut down for a year at least to see if anything is left in the wreckage. I'm beginning to think this is it for UK speedway as we have known it.
YeOldPitGate
I've said on here before I think the slide started after Penhall quit at the end of the 1982 season he was probably the most box office speedway rider ever. As a deja vue scenario a few years later promoters realised things were going the wrong way and got the ex Ipswich promoter John Berry (Berry was the best promoter in the early 80's and again Ipswich was the jewell) to be the big chief. If anyone could have turned things around it was Berry but from memory less than a week into his new role he quit as he couldn't implement the changes he wanted to do, fast forward forty years and the modern day version of John Berry has now also thrown the towel in.

British Speedway simply can't get out of the hole this time, Years of failure has finally caught up with them. The sad thing is, I believe that some of them don't even want to get out of it.

They have nobody to blame but themselves. Years of self interest, back stabbing and papering over the cracks have finally caught up with them. They have backed themselves into a corner. What a mess. What a very avoidable mess.... The top tier has to be gone now surely?

SUPERACE
1 league will be the end of Speedway, its not the answer. Its simply going to be a slow death from here, it won't survive into the next decade.

I've known the state of play all along hence why I've put up such a fight for it's future. If I didn't put up a fight, Then I wouldn't have the right to call myself a fan. FishersGate
The blame is to be shared all around. 1.Riders demanding too much wonga 2. The BSPA running the sport poorly and unprofessionally 3. Losing Sky tv contract 4. Poland 5. The Grand Prix 6. TNT being rubbish 7. Poor crowds 8. Poor advertising/lack of modernizing 9. Lack of investment from clubs 10. Houses being built I could go on forever!!! There's plenty more. 8

When the GP's became the priority for those riders, it should have been reset radically, with at least 3 ring fenced places per team, every team, for UK riders... And when Poland took over it should have been reset radically., with at least 3 ring fenced places per team, every team, for UK riders... And when the Pandemic ended, it should have been reset radically with etc etc etc...

It's never been about the PREM in regards to a select few on here and they can deny that all the want. No true Belle Vue fan actively cheers to see it's Clubs downfall.....Because if they do, Then they never was a fan in the first place. Lack of any clear vision and strategy around operating model, business plan and national marketing.. Incredibly well meaning people willing to put literally millions in to the sport they love, each year for decades... But without the skill set to properly run a professional sport.... Nor the will to pay "someone" from outside the "Speedway Bubble" who just maybe have could... Edited 15 hours ago by mikebv
THE DEAN MACHINE
So it’s one league then, good, not the proper way to get there but we are there, so let’s make it work, welcome the 5 teams from above and their sulking promoters and make the damn thing work, you have the basic tools, the product is there just work damn hard to make it succeed
