It’s a good job you don’t want the other three, as you’re on 30.54 without them.

With them, you’re probably 4 points over the limit.

Are you happy to carry three two-pointers?

Presumably your 30.54 is based on the last Green Sheets but the figure is now less. Carrying three two pointers would take the team total to a bit over 36 ! And that's before the British rider reduction for team building

While the ideal situation would be signing a rider who can score how you've described, Howarth's replacement wouldn't need to be as good as that, or as good as Howarth, just better than a guest on an average of 6.22 or below.

For example Antti Vuolas?

If Glasgow were allowed an 8 point guest for Howarth for the rest of the season, I probably wouldn't have looked for a replacement.

Typical speedway: I know your rider has quit the sport, but we won't allow you to sign a rider because you have ridden too many matches. Since you haven't signed a rider, because we won't allow it, we will punish you by not allowing a proper guest up to his actual average.

In a sport where riders do sometimes quit mid season, and serious injuries happen at any point, how could they not have predicted a situation like this might occur?

The AGM really is just a chimps tea party for half baked ideas!

Given our record with guests, I would have liked to see a signing, but they seemingly couldn't get anyone suitable in the time scale (mainly due to fixture clashes as I understand it). If Tigers were out of playoff contention then they might have lowered their sights, but it wouldn't go down well to tank the season whilst in a playoff spot

Well NOELINHO, Have you any suggestions for riders for next season, dont criticise my opinion and not come up with something yourself.Haufwit !!!

You didn't give a full team yourself, so don't get all pissy with my response unless you're going to do that. Four riders isn't a team, I was just asking what you'd do to fill the remaining spots.

Here's a team you can make with the four riders you want next year. All based on current rolling averages.

I'm not really sure it fixes the issue of struggling for points at 2/6/7, which has been a common complaint of Glasgow fans over the last few years.

No different to having a transfer window in football (the world's most popular sport)? I can agree with your point about getting a lesser guest, but having a transfer window seems like a perfectly normal rule. You can't set out rules to account for riders retiring mid-season, we're supposed to be a professional sport.

Kind of.... but in football, they have a squad of 25, so if someone quits, or gets injured, one of the 13 others steps up/in.  Not quite the same as losing your 2nd best rider and not being able to replace him, is it really?

You can't compare speedway with football. Football teams have squads to cover such issues, they also don't use guests. Also remember riders are self employed, they don't get 'transferred'. I can understand why we wouldn't be allowed to sign a rider from a club that isn't going to make the play-offs but why stop a rider who isn't already riding in the uk from joining the club.  A new rider generates publicity using guests generates adverse or no publicity.

I would like the Tigers management to have NICK MORRIS and REID BATTYE as guests tomorrow night as they seem to put an effort into their riding.

To reach the Final is a big ask now, and the Management should start looking at riders for next season

i would have HARRIS,FLINT,PEDERSEN and DAN THOMPSON back, that leaves 3 others.

No HAGON,HODDER AND HAUSL.

See Poland have started using Thursdays as ANOTHER race night, are they trying to dominate the whole week

Why are we letting the Poles dictate the speedway world, next year will be a nightmare, as riders have Poland and 1 other league to race in.

money simple as that gb cannot compete with what they offer riders
