Arry is an ambassador for Bet Victor triffic. Get them involved with some big sponsorship if Rachel from accounts dont put the gambling tax up.

Let supporters bet on the races that would bring more people in.  When you buy a ticket you get a free bet and a free drink from the bar like they do

at the dogs.  Worth a go.  Bet Victor run adverts on Sky and TNT at half time or before the football on a Sunday with Arry in it to drum up support.

Giving free bets at meetings will do nothing to attract new attendees at meetings but will increase or divert the cost of sponsorship.
Also worth recognising that the days of the local bookies with his pitch & bag attending meetings are long gone with the main potential market for speedway betting being online on a global basis where like the dogs and frankly any sport there is no need to attend the actual meeting to place a bet.
Speedway is ideal for betting on a number of different models & if live streaming can be installed at all tracks then indeed the sport may well be able to attract a much needed financial lifeline.
Again, my only worry would be that the promoters do nothing with the cash to improve the sports infrastructure, promotion & rider development and thereby creating medium & longterm growth. They will of course ensure their own pockets are suitably filled.

All be driving Bentleys then.

Bringing gambling to speedway is another way to dilute Joe Publics interest in the sport.

Currently it is in the main an honest and dedicated sport. Put bets on races and I see countless engine failures, or tape exclusions, 2 mins exclusions etc. etc. Please no gambling for speedway.

Oh well lets do nothing then and then when its crap again at the start of next season moan about it like every year.

Every other sport has betting and it brings in much needed sponsorship. People go to the dogs just to have a bet so the same could happen with speedway.  Triffic could sort this out easy with Bet Victor.

Couldn't agree more on both points.

Personally I think Betting on Speedway would be a disaster. For many years we have marketed ourselves as a family Sport. Bring in Betting, and you will ruin Speedway as we know it.

Introduce Betting and the Sport will be tainted with corruption in no time.

I want to see Speedway thrive - but not at the price of dirty money. At the moment, as singy13 says it is largely, I believe, an honest Sport - that would all go out of the window if Betting were allowed.

Not for me at any price.

But people don't go to the dogs - they bet online, or use their nearest bookies. And it's a bit different having a word in a dogs ear as to instructing a speedway rider how to win, or lose, a race isn't it?

The "family sport" tag was used as a way of differentiating speedway crowds from that of football which in the 70's and the level of hooliganism seen at football grounds was well founded. Today, speedway still remains a "family sport" unfortunately not attended by families to any great extent unlike football with some clubs having massive sections dedicated to families a lot who are season ticket holders.
also looking back, Speedway, as a "family sport" didn't mind running many events sponsored by the fag and booze companies now actually banned from such advertising. And lets not forget Durex - hardy "family" related
Times have moved on (ok maybe not speedway UK) and speedway folk should accept with open arms the betting industry which in itself is one of the most tightly regulated businesses here in the UK.
and consider this, nobody needs to place a bet at a meeting, just like nobody needs to drink booze and smoke fags/vape at meetings, but plenty still do!

Professional sports are generally moving away from gambling sponsorship. It’s not a good look. There are outliers such as darts but that is a sport with a profile to put the bookmaker in front of millions of people on television. Speedway can’t do that. Nobody knows the odds like a bookmaker and Speedway would be a losing bet for them.

Ok then lets sit back and it will all be crap again next season and the season after that and the one after that.

The SCB will have to monitor any race fixing very carefully and punish any riders or teams doing this regularly.

Sponsorship from the bookies will bring much needed funds into the sport.

What bookmakers are queuing up to sponsor speedway?

BetVictor have prior interest in Speedway sponsoring Coventry in 2003

Let's not forget that the dogs kicked Wolves out of their stadium, money talks (barks)
