I take your point, I'd get rid of all tacticals personally. I guess its the knockout element which makes it more unfair for me. It was the Golden Double but I think that highlighted the imbalance of the tactical option if one team gets to use it in both legs.

Personally I'd keep them, in fact I'd increase them, they can keep matches alive... not double points though!

I'd definitely get rid of tactical subs for home teams.....if you are 6 behind at home then tough luck.

In the good old days:rofl: when we had a functional sport with competitors. For how many years did we have the old fashioned tactical rule of using any rider when 6 points behind. I always thought it worked quite well to be honest?

Totally agree and this has always been a bugbear of mine. There’s enough home advantage as it is and a home team should never be allowed to use a tactical.

So it's exactly the same then. Tac subs allowed in the league phase, but not in the knockout phase.

Yes, 1 tac-sub per team, I assume it's the same for the non-knockout league and play offs

What about a team with no home advantage like Birmingham for the last couple of years (completely new teams) and Northamptoningham this year?

I don’t buy that argument at all. They would all have practiced and done many laps at Birmingham. Northampton not so for obvious reasons but that’s an anomaly and a unique case. Why didn’t Birmingham have any home advantage? I heard that nonsense earlier on that kings Lynn podcast and don’t believe a word of it

Every track has an element of home track advantage. They had a poor record because they were quite frankly rubbish.

You'll have to remind me of the context of that comment, although I'm pretty sure I didn't say it 😁

Think it was Rob Lyon wasn’t it Bagpuss? Could have been one of the others I’m not sure

Edit: Actually think it was when he was discussing Ipswich’ chances and Musielak being key to us doing well. Mentioned him being on a cheap average partly due to riding at Birmingham with “no home track advantage”.

Birmingham because they had a completely new team in 2024 & 2025 and there's so few meetings these days can you really say that they're is a home track advantage? There will be for your stalwarts Bewley, Kurtz, Holders etc.

Can't remember, but I'd agree that any team who races every home meeting on one particular track will naturally have a home advantage, stands to reason. You could argue that teams who stick with riders for multiple seasons might build up more of it but everyone has at least some, and as you say the quality of the line up has much more to do with it.
