I might sit in the main stand tonight, if that’s the case. I’d also be closer to the announcer, so could maybe help correct his many errors.

Who was the old presenter? Michael Max, I think? He was very good. I remember he was brought down to do the Pairs at Workington and the PLRC at Belle Vue, he was that highly regarded. At a time when there were 25+ active clubs in British speedway, all of whom had their own presenter.

Edinburgh have quite a professional set up with no Laurel & Hardy like attempts at humour, but their previous one was also outstanding. I think his name was Scott Wilson.

I still have nightmares about ”Peter ‘The Motor’ Carr”” because nine times out of ten, he was winning.

I'm sure Michael Max covered a couple of meetings last season? Or previous?

I'll apologise in advance if you do take the stand and sound issues are fixed!

Well done to Chris, Kyle and Victor for finishing heat 15 after the track suddenly found itself under a waterfall.

Close meeting, the top 3 for the bandits made it difficult to get a heat advantage but the Tigers managed to pick up a few good 3rds to pull ahead.

Harris and Howarth very strong and the KJP-Flint pairing looks like it'll be very strong. Hagon also did well though maybe too wide a couple times. Mario had speed laps 2-4 but going nowhere lap 1 made it difficult for him. Freddy seemed to have equipment struggles but he should come on.

Bandits overall look like a solid outfit, just need a bit more support from the second strings and reserves and they can hit big points.

Should be a criminal offence subjecting people to that music, wished we had Scunthorpe's speaker system during the intervals.

What a fantastic meeting, credit to both teams for puting on a show in tricky conditions, Bomber and Kyle doing some mental moves. Heat 15 in torrential rain they were still racing and passing to get the 5-1, not sure how they managed to stay on, very few gate and go races. Hopefully a good match tomorrow at Shielfield,  with Bomber doing bomber things, and at least a bonus point to the tiggers.

How wet was it? Some of the online photos make the place look like a swamp. Ashfield is probably the best prepared track in the country it surely can’t have been as bad as the photos suggest.

Heat 15 was torrential rain, how they managed to actually race was amazing as track was under water at that point, rest of the meeting was OK, just that last race.

That will the photos that are doing the rounds. Looks spectacular just not typical speedway weather.
