Northampton Foxes v Sheffield Tigers Thurs 18th June

Recommended Posts

A great comeback from the Tigers, they looked out of it after 11 after a couple of indifferent rides from Jack Holder but after an unlikely 5-1 in 14 they were pretty much home and hosed with a couple of Holders in 15 👏

Awful management by Adams not putting Thomson in heat 12. Cost his team the meeting potentially.

Not got the Senior Adams tactical nous. Shame as was heading for another Northampton win which is what they need to keep the crowd coming back, how were the numbers tonight?

Good... but the lowest yet.

I think Adams is too pally with the riders, doesn't seem to have a ruthless streak like his old man

You don't really need great tactical nous, to know that you should give an unbeaten reserve extra rides.

Ok Kye lost a 5-1 in heat 14, but he was unbeaten up till then, but only given his 4 rides!

Motm Chris Adams- not giving Thomson additional rides helped secure us that win.

Well impressed with the set up at Northampton though, fantastic facilties and was well organised. Track needs work, up against it with how warm and dry it was but I think had their been more grading we could've potentially seen more racing- however if they can sort that out and put together a more competitive team they could be ob to a real winner.

Good to see Sheffield finally get an away win this season, decent away following as well.  Chris Holder rolling back the years.

But more importantly has the racing improved, it was dire on opening day but should have settled down now.

Not really, there was some close racing last night, but only 1 real pass of note that I can remember from Anders Rowe

First visit last night, and frankly won't be going again if that's what is on offer entertainment wise. A shame as the stadium is alright.

First time to Northampton. What a great setup. If they could get a bit more banking on the corners I think it would make for more racing lines, but we still have to remember that it's still a first year track. I remember Scunthorpe having to make several adjustments when they firs started. As a Sheffield fan I had a great night but for me the ride of the night was "Reggi" in ht.14. that was hat he was brought in to do and would love to see more of it. I wish all the best to the Foxes as they are a great addition to the league and speedway in general.

Not much to say except that, once again, the Foxes only had 5 riders, but a different 5! Thomson should have had 6 rides but that's what you get with an inexperienced team manager, I suppose. Racing was apparently poor, crowd was apparently good. Hopefully the first improves before the second falls. I'll be there a week on Monday and just enjoy having something local for the rest of the season!

Pete was the other end of the scale zero empathy and always looked permanently miserable but as you say he knew how to run a team I can remember years ago when Wolves just about held Cradley in an away match and somehow Pete had Sam or Ronnie Correy out in every other heat and both were on fire that night.
