The age old scenario as you get older the injuries take longer to heal and often not properly or without leaving legacies in comparison to when you were younger . I think there are less financial penalties( if any) for missing GP'S than league matches ,if he aggravated his injury in the GP he may well be unpopular to say the least with his league teams .
