  1. That's what happened to BZ last year one really bad GP by his standards and he had Kurtz snapping at his heels for the rest of the series
  2. The powers that be wants the main competitors to hopefully trip up on some occasions rather than it become a two or three horse race early in the series. The system we have now means you must make the final otherwise you very quickly have a mountain to climb . Whether we like it or not the idea is to level the plain-field( making it more of a lottery ) rather than letting water find it's own level which would invariable mean the series being dominated by the those that demonstrate consistency throughout theGP'S .
  3. Fair point but ultimately IMO it is to stop BZ dominating the series !
  4. I think the point is that it stops the usual suspects dominating the series as we know cream floats to the top, so if you introduce as much uncertainty as possible it can yield in an unexpected result . It's not the way I would like the series to be run as like many people I want the best rider on the night win ,in the case of this GP it should of been Bewley IMO !
  5. I read somewhere BZ sees this type of behaviour as positive because it's as a weakness in his opposition !
  6. Morris should not be allowed near a s/way track just be a "yard -dog " to keep the meeting flowing !
  7. BZ will be happy with 3rd place manages to make the best of a bad night by his standards !
  8. Scott can do what PK did in his final season at Wolves knock in 6-8 on a regular basics and maybe the odd big score at home !
  9. Have to agree well past his sell- buy date to me but as a whole I think this team could hold their own at home ,always good to have a new s/way team .
  10. Not sure if it's true but I have been told this is his last season as a rider !
  11. Lets wait and see when the kerb is put in at least they have the space to play with from what pics I've seen !
  12. I'm impressed with what I have seen so far 400 mtr track should produce some good racing ,as has been said it will have to comply to get a license . Most of the work seems fairy straight forward they have the infra instructor it is more adaption to co-exist with the stoxs that needs to be done ,there will be a cost but assume that has been factored into the project .
  13. IMO how well he scores and if he can stay injury free will detemine whether this is his last season !
  14. Yet the oldest member of that team is lining up for the Witches in 2026 and Plymouth In the CL ,decade and a half past his best !
  15. I think it's not a bad team at all, no superstars although I think Emil and Jason were not quite the riders they had once been .
  16. How do you know Scott has signed for certain did I miss something ?
  17. Showing your age there Dean ! As I remember all the Wrestling greats had second jobs even though the were on the TV each week traveling all over the country perhaps lesson to be learnt there by riders of today .
  18. Still fully committed every time he goes to the tapes ,we should make the most of him hope he has safe and successful season .
  19. A "proper s/way rider I witnessed many riders like yourself in 70's and 80's the bedrock of the sport now sadly long gone .
  20. Traveling has always been a big demand on riders ,in the 70's we came back from Workington to Chester on a Friday night( after midnight ) in work Saturday till lunch time .Then we washed and prepared two bikes in the afternoon ready for Eastborne the next day .The rider did all the driving towing a two bike trailer and scored a paid max Friday and I think 13 from five on Sunday and he was back at work Monday morning as a panel beater . He was one of the NL all time greats IMO as well
  21. I agree there was a vast differences between the two leagues now the lines are so blurred , Bomber would have been a number one in old NL at his age no disrespect but Scott Nicholls would be no where near the old Gulf league at almost 50 yrs old .
  22. True but I don't remember there being doubling down then only up ,once a rider was past it in the old first division they dropped down to the old NL and had a couple years there before leaving the sport .
  23. Half the problem is riders trying to make a full time living out of the sport instead realising it's a paying hobby for the vast majority of them .
