bigdave
Taken from the local Cumbria Crack news web site: Future speedway world champions head to Workington this weekend Workington is preparing to host the cream of the world’s top young talent with two major events over the weekend. The Comets host the FIM Track Racing Youth Gold Trophy on Saturday, followed by the European 125cc Youth Track Racing Cup on Sunday. Five of Great Britain’s youngsters – Lewis Hague, Fraser Buckle, George Climo, Douglas Marshall and Jessica Cox – will be featuring in a multi-national line-up which includes newly crowned SGP4 champion Blake Schlein of Australia. Workington co-promoter James Denham said: “Young Schlein is definitely a superstar, he’s got everything. “It’s brilliant for the club to host such a fantastic event, and to see some of the world’s youngest racers. “These are probably future world champions on 500s, riders who will be in the GP in 10 years, so it’s fantastic for the club and hopefully we’ll have a few more coming down to cheer these young kids on.”

Neila
Was some good racing by the young kids, and most times 63 - 65 seconds so only around 7 seconds slower than the big boys. If the forecast rain appears overnight it will be a different track tomorrow for the kids to enjoy. If anyone was thinking of going get down to watch it's very enjoyable

Neila
Lots of praise from the ACU / FIM representatives of the set up at worky a bit thanks for Andrew Bain and team for getting the comets facilities to where they are now. Hopefully it's onwards and upwards till the next major meeting. Well done to the kids for trying their best on Sunday, but the Cumbrian weather unfortunately beat them rain all afternoon until 20.00 😲

Just to let you know that a thread was started in May by myself for both meetings in the International section where all the FIM Europe and FIM meetings are posted( apart from GP, SWC , SON etc). We had line-ups and PPV details as well. Edited August 12 by racers and royals
