Sky Sports New Deal

Recommended Posts

Not wrong at all!! If you believe GoSpeed are the only ones in regular touch with Sky - think again!! All MF's many sponsors will be well pleased and will keep the level of their investment at a strong level!! Plus of course Poole will probably get their fair share of the televised meeting revenue, so good news all round and correct to share it asap!!!:D

Yes it is wrong, basic business etiquette.

Not exactly a big deal in the grand scheme of things though and potentially good news about the deal... of course if they carry on presenting meetings in front of empty stadiums with zero atmosphere then its another 5 years of damage to the sport. Until they wake up and realise they need to use TV to their advantage (money aside) then it will harm them rather than help.

To be honest it should have been announced by the BSPA or Sky, also if Ford wished to tell his contact at the Echo he should have ensured the source keept it under his hat until the announcement was made, then it could have been a ncie interview with Ford saying how brilliant everything is.

Totally agree!

Unbelievable, some relatively good news in that at least speedway is still going to be shown on Sky next season and all we get is people moaning about Matt Ford again!

I found out today (I don't follow Football at all) that Ipswich grade each match and charge accordingly, apparently. Last night against Wigan was a tenner! Perhaps when televised, there should be a policy that all EL clubs greatly reduce admission to showcase Speedway and try and avoid as mentioned above?

If they are telivising the sport only. That should have been announced by sky or the BSPA then it could also mean that there is no money what so ever coming from Sky this year. They show the speedway full stop. It is up to the BPSA, to find sponcership, without it no money comes in. I think it will be very hard work trying to find a big outfit that is going to through a lot of money into speedway.

Hope I am wrong but that is as I see the Sky deal.

5 years of broadcast only. Full stop.

Exactly, that would be an excellent start.

I'm not sure you have fully thought through your comments here.

This has not been confirmed by sky as yet but the leak came from Matt Ford who informed the Bournemouth Echo.

Have we got a link to that ?

Quite agree, and can't really defend Matt if he has.

Nothing pisses you off more than a fellow promoter who announces one of your new riders, instead of allowing you the privilege of announcing it according to your team building.

Usually the same ones that advise their fans of the AGM matters, before the official BSPA statement has been released. Hence the reason why an incomplete statement is made in order to be first out.

This is why Ford should have kept quiet! Tut tut!

Yet another example of Fat Maud thinking he is bigger than British speedway. If this is fact, he should be hit with a disrepute charge..

IF he indeed did leak it.

We only have a post on here saying he did. Although the way Starman/Skidder jumped to his defence would suggest some truth in it.

Is it reported in the Bournemouth Echo? A link?
