iris123 20,984 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) . Car parking was always going to be a problem (tried parking at a London football club?) The only London football club with an equivalent attendance is Leyton Orient I think.Or are you comparing Belle Vues 6,000 with 40 or 50,000???? Hardly a fair comparison, almost all of Leyton Orient's support will live within 'the borough' and won't be rocking up with no idea where to park. Surely things like parking will sort themselves out as people get used to the place, hopefully the promotion will be aware of the parking problems experienced and will put plans in place for the big World Cup meetings. Red Panda 366 Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Okay that's good. But why is the BV/Poole meeting called off then? Changed back to its original staging date of 27/04 now its no longer being covered by Sky.............. http://www.bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1646 RP Edited March 23, 2016 by Red Panda
Reviresco 708 Posted March 23, 2016 APPARENTLY track curator Colin Meredith is happy with the track now and that a full practice will be held tomorrow and he is confident it will be okay for Friday. APPARENTLY not... but then, as you say, it was a fluid situation, eh Phil... His comments on the world cup was quite shocking but not surprising, the riders dont get paid , just there expenses are paid , tai had to wait 6 months to get his back £2600 but there must also be prize money for the winners or top 3 at least Prize Money for the 2016 SWC ranges from US$ 25,000 for 1st Place down to US$ 8,500 for 9th Place. The Riders' travel and hotel expenses are included in the Prize Money which is paid directly by the FIM to the FMNs after the completion of the Final. Each Team Manager can request up to 18 free guest tickets for the use of each Rider competing at the meeting.

Phil The Ace 2,860 Posted March 24, 2016 Following the abandonment of Saturdays Peter Craven Memorial Trophy, Belle Vue Speedway have implemented the following measures with regards to refunding event night ticket holders. The club are offering one of the following three options:- Option 1 - Re-Staging: It is the intention of Belle Vue Speedway to look to re-stage the 2016 Peter Craven Memorial Trophy at a later date. Ticket(s) from March 19th will be valid for this re-staging provided fans retain them. We will issue more information on this in due course. If ticket holders cannot attend the re-arranged fixture or the fixture cannot be fulfilled then they may opt to pursue either Option 2 or Option 3, valid only for the 2016 season. Option 2 - Exchange: Ticket(s) from March 19th can be exchanged at the box office for any 2016 Belle Vue Speedway domestic league match ticket(s) of equal value, or used as credit towards a domestic league match ticket(s) of greater value. Please contact the office for more information. Option 3 - Refund: Ticket holders wishing to request refunds for the 2016 Peter Craven Memorial Trophy must return their ticket(s) or confirmation by post to the National Speedway Stadium, and a refund of the face value of the ticket(s) will be processed and issued as quickly as possible by our administration team. The Belle Vue management team would like to take this opportunity to thank supporters for their continuing patience and support, and would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Phil The Ace 2,860 Posted March 24, 2016 Should have been made within 24 hrs! About time! ! Whether I was 1 day or two days it doesn't matter. People was always going to get an option of a refund. They just needed to iron a few stuff out.

Well it wasn't 1 day, or two days. It was 5 days. As for 'it doesn't matter'... brilliant! It's little wonder speedway struggles to keep its fanbase.
lisa-colette 6,030 Posted March 24, 2016 If Matt Ford made BV fans wait this long for a refund if a Poole/BV meeting was off say, their fans would go nuts!! But it's okay when BV do it 👎

But it's okay when BV do it 👎I've experienced Matt Ford not giving refunds on the night, when the woman was counting the takings in front of my eyes, so don't go there! I was bloody livid, was the infamous hole in the track night grrr
Aces51 2,778 Posted March 24, 2016 If people go back to the Belle Vue statement of the 21st March they will see that David Gordon said, “We will be making a separate statement about re-staging and refunds for Saturday when we have taken advice about the contractual obligations that the other parties are subject to.” As with many other aspects of this unfortunate saga some seem to think, even when an explanation has been given, that things are much easier to resolve than they actually are.

But it's okay when BV do it 👎 Not we wouldn't. I have never been offered a refund for any away trips that have been postponed but we are offered to go to the restaging for free. CM said on Sunday that fans will get refunds but bare with us. It's only been 5 days. Not 5 months.
