As late as May? I'd say it was obvious from the end of last season...

Come on, man! Except for Leszno dominating at the top, the Ekstraliga this year was tremendously exciting. Who would have thought that Gorzow and Torun finish the season in the relegaton zone. All meetings were generally excellent throughout the season, and attracted big crowds, and that even with live tv coverage for the first time of EVERY meeting.
racers and royals 8,727 Posted September 4, 2019 I put Lublin in error instead of Rybnik and have since edited it.

I actual don't mind watching Leszno pumping everyone. They still tend to be good matches to watch as Hampel aside they have exciting riders. So Iin racing terms it's been a good season. Lublin have brought a lot to the party and good to ditch Tarnow for 2019 which was an awful track. On LesNo dominance.....Do Smeketa and Kubera have to graduate from the reserve spot in 2020? That will close the gap between Leszno and the rest

Smektala will be in the main body of the team in 2020 with Kubera still able to be at 6/7 or 14/15

Possibly i suppose, he did admit in a Polish TV interview that he was under pressure and admitted he had only really got going as he wanted in the latter part of the season. Maybe Hampel will go as he has in the main been disappointing in Poland and Sweden this season.
stewmac 473 Posted September 5, 2019 I suspect Hampel may be under more pressure. Older and declining, while Kurtz is much younger and can potentially improve a bit yet..

Agreed, The only negative thing to come out of watching Polands coverage every weeked is then watching the coverage of domestic UK speedway on the Monday.. Sadly it really highlights the huge differences across every single facet of the sport in both countries.. Been some great racing this year, and when a team with Doyle, Holder, Holder and NKI get relegated well adrift of the top teams you have an exceptional overall competition standard..

Why bother to compare (again and again!!), its not as if the leagues are competing against each other!? Poland is Poland and GB is GB and we all know the various pros and cons respective to each league. Clearly as Torun have demonstrated this season, having several 'top' riders guarantees you nothing - neither wins nor good racing.
