  1. Past hour
  2. Poland haven't been paying lots of riders in ALL leagues, why do you assume it's worky's fault, I know some issues reared it's head mid season, but surely the promotion would be sqeekey clean after that
  3. Generally speaking, the winner of SGP2 is way behind a regular GP1 rider. After winning GP2 series and GP after GP getting beat by top riders could demoralise the young lad and set him back. When Martin Vaculick came to GP1 he did well initially....but then didn't bother with GP1 fora few years to give himself time to mature as a rider. He came back into GP1, with more experience, came 2nd in GP1 just couple years ago. Sadly this year not performed too well, maybe he carrying an injury or something. Just after Fricke winning SGP2 came Drabik and Smektala, between them they won 3 GP2 on the trot. Neither of them yet in the GP1 series full time, Jaimon Lidsey the same. I think Jan Kvech was 2nd in GP2 just 3 or 4 years ago, he will come back in 2 or 3 years better then he is now, hes picked up the experience.... it was just too soon for him.
  4. Are the likes of Bewley, Kurtz, Fricke and Doyle based in the UK? What about Lambert?
  5. Oh dear, so that rules him out of the...*checks notes* Premiership PO final. The guy has explicitly told everyone his season is over and they've responded by banning him for 28 days. Shambles.
  6. Really poor from Bowes, if that’s the case. Then again and I’m playing Devil’s advocate here, but if he hasn’t been paid - as can easily be assumed from his statement - then perhaps a single inconvenience is all it took for the toys to leave the pram. Either way, it isn’t good for the sport.
  7. Because they need every rider possible to fill up the teams...
  8. Don’t want him learning his trade here then pis*ing off abroad.
  9. Another rider who thinks he’s above the sport. Don’t even bother coming over here next year, you won’t be missed that’s for sure.
  10. From what I hear transport was arranged to take the bikes to Poole, but the rider forgot or did not want to arrange transport to get himself to Poole. So no fault of worky . Also the ban is meaningless as the season is over, why can't it be rolled over to the 2026 season
  11. U19 final still to come at the GT tyres Northside arena . Team finals who wants to see them 😛 By the way good luck to all pilots opposition teams in the finals 😁
  12. So many questions, in an ideal world the One League system is the way to go but it will have a dramatic effect on the way it operates with costs etc. No way will the likes of Kurtz , Bewley , Fricke , Doyle etc be able to ride in such a League even the so called lesser riders like Masters, Lawson, Harris (Heat leaders in both leagues) prefer and demand to ride in two British league sides to make a living. Its a complicated and sad way the British Leagues have evolved.
  13. Would the sprints be better if both riders started opposite each other on the straights and shown on a split screen like they do with cycling
  14. British speedway is so depleted that as a spectacle, one league is the only solution. The issue is subsequently whether or not this is viable for those who double up - Harris, Masters, Lawson, etc. - and most alarmingly, whether or not there are a sufficient amount of riders to build as many teams as one big league requires. Although probably necessary, reducing teams to five riders seems tinpot.
  15. Today
  16. The Sprint Races were only brought in to make the qualifying session watchable, which was fair enough imo because if there's Speedway on the Tv I'm going to watch it. The trouble is that the broadcast is that poorly put together it's barely worth watching and to just a sprinkling of people watching it live at the stadium is just embarassing!
  17. The winner of the SGP2 should definitely be nowhere near the main SGP series, it's generally years before they're anywhere near the level required to be in the main series if ever at all. The last WU21 Champion currently in the series is Max Fricke who won it in 2016, it's taken him 10 years to get from that level to his current level and he's still relying on wild cards to qualify.
  18. Cloak and dagger stuff from Bowes on Facebook. Very poorly written. ”I love speedway, I ride in Poland, it’s been a busy season, I was criticised in Poland, I wanted to be at Poole, my season is over”.. What? There’s such an emphasis put on Poland - the sparring match, the U24 spot, someone called Marek’s comments, etc. - that you assume the target of the statement is Poland. I can only assume the reference to clubs struggling financially and riders not being paid is in regard to Workington. Were the difficulties with travel to Poole the straw that broke the camel’s back? Who knows?
  19. When are the fixtures typically released? January?
  20. I don’t think you can underestimate the pressure our team building put on those two young men. The number six - Hodder to begin with and now Perry - had a remarkably tough gig, especially. Neither have had the protection of an even slightly more experienced reserve partner - a Grahn, a Starke or a Hook, for example - to bear a bit of the weight and afford them to the time to develop. I’m not sure what I’d do next season. I think a lot of that depends on how the month of October goes.
  21. Not for me, it has to be one or the other, especially with nothing other than pride riding on it, the "LCT" would become nothing more than an end of season fixture filler.
  22. U don't need to fret coz the Kermits don't get to Finals so u won't need to stand out in the cold wearing yer long johns and mittens! 😀
  23. Organisation and a strong hand on the tiller, no rearranging matches because a rider is a reserve in the Timbuktu Open Championship.
  24. he Workington club received information prior to fixture versus Berwick on Saturday 27th September that Fraser Bowes had refused to travel back to the UK from his base in Poland to participate in this final fixture. By Mr Bowes refusing to compete on the 27th of September he has breached SCB Regulation - 017.2 i) Failure to attend from a meeting duly listed on the official fixture list. Due to this breach of the Regulations, Mr Bowes SCB Registration will be suspended for a period of 28 days as from the 27th of September.
  25. Hannah is a decent rider would hold her own in the national league. Ask Ben trigger he followed her around a lot 😂
  26. As we go into October, yet again various finals are still to be completed and the weather is changing. Yet their is talk of one league with more fixtures to cram in !! How will this work out ??
