Berwick v Workington

Decent meeting that, hope Sam’s doing alright, was a nasty one. Was a cold night waiting around, we’ve got ourselves a good team a few weeks too late, but nothing could have been done to get Morris in any quicker, if only the Cumbrian didn’t let us down we’d of been a match for anybody with Jeppesen. I’d expect Smith, Kemp, Kildemand back next year, with possibly Hume and Hagon if fit. Would love Jeppesen and Morris, but I’m sure they’ll have plenty offers. -

How are they childish just stating there’s atleast 4 dates and then the start of October before the 5th aswell ridiculous, and why would I be blaming Poole there not the ones who have decided such a late date to rearrange, this 100% lays with Redcar. -

Don’t disagree with you but as ‘ Paddy the Rebel ‘ has no idea what’s going on between the two clubs but clearly blames Redcar then his comments are childish. -

Yeah that'll work. Not like speedway needs fans or anything End of the day playoffs should be before BSN or KOC. -

Imo Vaculik will certainly get a WC due to the Prague GP as well as Martin only having one bad year, Apart from this season, He's actually been a decent addition to the GP series with multiple GP victories. -

Is it because fans see themselves in the drivers, they are one of them, so there is the bond, I’ve always maintained that this is what speedway has lost, we the fans no longer feel like one of them, there’s them and us now ? -

Whether it happens or not for me, MJJ (now confirmed) Dudek, Emil, Łaguta would make it considerably stronger, drop Kai, Kvech, Vaculik and Anders, I would also as an actual wildcard (not just the merry go round of riders classed as wildcard) add in Drabik. Just try something slightly different. My line up: Zmarzlik Kurtz Bewley Lindgren Holder Lebedevs Lambert Madsen Woryna Kubera MJJ Dudek (qualified or wildcard) Emil (Wildcard) Łaguta (Wildcard) Doyle or Drabik (Wildcard) - Doyle may well believe it’s beginning to slow down in his career as he has signed for M.2 Krosno team so maybe he can re qualify officially for SGP 2027. -

As you have no idea whats going on between the two clubs and the riders availability , or even if its Poole who cant fit it in, I think your comment is pathetic. -

It was the F1 Stockcar World Final. The spectator numbers ain't that much higher than when SWC/SON meetings were held there. A normal Stockcar weekend is still 2-3x that of Speedway -

In all fairness You can't punish a man for not turning up until he hasn't turned up. So until the meeting is over he could turn up & if he doe's is a punishment applicable & if he fails to show then the punishment can be applied after the event

With the exception of Fricke there are substantive arguments against everyone else. All the other GP riders were simply mediocre. Nobody could be said to be unlucky in the Challenge. The SEC will give us Dudek (either as winner or 4th wildcard - all his closest competitors are already in), there are no consistently impressive performers in the major leagues that haven't already been accounted for. And that just leaves Emil and Artem. Assuming we don't expect a 5th Pole the best candidates are: Highest ranked rider in 2025 GP series not already qualified: Mikkel Michelsen [or Doyle if you take account of his missed GP] Highest averaged rider in Ekstraliga: Michelsen again Highest averaged rider in Elitserien: Ryan Douglas Highest averaged rider in Premiership: Douglas again [or Doyle if you include KO Cup matches] So based on results it has to be Michelsen and Doyle or Douglas - but I suspect commercial considerations will override the evidence. -
More speed at the end of the straight can be achieved with something as simple as smaller sprockets, the more teeth you take off the further the bike goes in a straight line before it hits its maximum speed but it’s a fine balance because the compromise in that is it takes longer to get to that optimum speed and the straights are short, a bigger sprocket will help you get out the start but that’s no good if half way down the straight the engine has maxed out, think of gearing like the gearbox in your car, 1st gear will always pull away faster than 3rd but it will run out of speed at 100yards and 3rd takes over to take it to next level of speed, one other thing that zmarzlik does which no other rider does is sit at the back of his seat entering the corner, everyone else sits at the front, back in the 80s Bruce penhall had his engine plates especially made so the engine was an inch further back in the frame thus moving the engine weight further towards the back wheel, an inch may sound nothing but in speedway every slight change can make the difference

What ever the sport, you go into a competition knowing the rules and the parameters. Whether they are seen to be right or wrong by some is irrelevant. The biggest disappointment for me is the general preparation and state of the tracks, they have been terrible and almost gate and go. Well done to BZ but Brady conducted himself well as a human being let alone as a sportsman. The record books will show BZ as equalling winning the most world titles, if he wins one more then he will be the GOAT,
