  1. Past hour
  2. I know it moves about, and why does it have to be a date, why not a day ? The next few years it's late March to mid April, so why not try it, not for 1 season but for 3 or 4 to see if it changes anything, if it doesn't then try something else. Just about every fan moans because theyre stood around in the cold, 2/3 week gaps between meetings in the height of summer and the season dragging on too long.
  3. Could be worse,? Delboy ,Boycie and Trigger, although I think Craig Boyce is past his best now ? and Delboy would have to factor in his commitments to Paris, New York and Peckham
  4. Christ that's almost Tolley like figures, I wonder how much of the £350k loss was racked up in the year they had Crump and Pederson
  5. A date would be required rather than a holy festival, good Friday this year will be April 3rd, at other years it can be as early as 20th March and as late as April 23rd, as it is chosen by an antiquated formula designed years ago by the church
  6. Well a last 3 I've heard off someone out of Workington, is cook starke and trigger, I bloomin hope not
  7. Don’t think Danyon will be fully fit would Alfie Bowtell fit in his place
  8. I agree that we need an independent figure in charge of the sport. This is what the SCB is supposed to be. But here we're talking about the BSPL selecting one of their members to be their leader. And Godfrey needs to go.
  9. To move forward the sport needs someone who isn’t a promoter in charge.
  10. I agree there will be a new chairman and changes to management committee. Not Morris, Ford or Facenna. Ford has been there with management committee and I don't see him going back. Facenna, I think has resisted the offer to get involved previously. Morris isn't a promoter, and I don't see him sticking his quiz winnings into Northampton to become one. I don't know who might put their name forward for the big job, but heard 2 names suggested by others. One a strong choice who has been doing a lot of work over the winter to sort the mess. The other a quieter, possibly unusual choice, not obvious but could be the level head needed.
  11. Why not have a ruling that Good Friday is the start of the season which would lose a couple of potentially wet or chilly meetings at the start of the season. Riders missing due to various World and European Championship meetings can only have a guest replacement for the day of that meeting. Otherwise you run with RR or an NDL level rider who doesn't ride for any other team. Riders who are fit enough to ride abroad but not here, such as Ben Cook this year only RR or NDL guest.

  13. Saw him at a holiday camp in Devon in the early 80s, he was telling jokes about Asians, a lot of jokes about Asians. A family of Sikhs got up and walked out. You're right, they don't make em like that anymore.
  14. Whoever it is, have the main man at the helm who is proven to be very prudent with other people's cash and will spend it very wisely
  15. WTF! just merely responded to someone who said Supermarket's won't touch ex-cons by pointing out that Timpson's business model is to do so and he's one of the UK's wealthiest men! Personally, I don't give a flying f'k if Garrity is back in speedway or not, if someone chooses to give him a chance good luck to them, there are plenty of wrong un's involved in the sport on and off the track already!
  16. I once had to make a decision on employing someone who had a spent conviction - he was upfront about it, as required, very concerned that we might withdraw the offer of a job, we employed him. Its down to the individuals concerned I suppose.
  17. Today
  18. Not allowed to do so.... I took on many "criminals" for my supermarkets all around the country... As long as they informed me about their past history then they fulfilled the criteria for a job... If they didn't let me know, and I found out later, then, legally, I could dismiss them for failing to declare such information... When you have served your time then you are as equal as everyone else...
  19. Last 3 be announced soon I believe they are nearly in place looking like. Craig Cook Daynon Hume Max Perry
  20. You've just nailed it with a way to save British Speedway & lower the British Crime population. Just make the teams up of ex-cons, lets them just go for it & all kill themselves, have more room in prisons for more serious crimes. Brilliant stuff 👍🏻
  21. I don't suppose the clubs have been sitting on their hands waiting for the Premier league to sort themselves out.
  22. The powers that be are doing a fine job in taking it down, without any help from the fans...
  23. I never worked for anything less than the going rate and always wanted more and if not bye bye and would not under sell myself ever.
