  1. Past hour
  2. Gilkes would come back to replace Thompson. My eyes and averages would suggest that Gilkes is an upgrade on Thompson. (Should add however that Joe was great tonight, showing a bit more muscle to pick up some valuable points).
  3. Leicester looking even more impressive with every passing meeting. Sheffield have morphed into the Gorzow of British Speedway where they're relying on a youngster at reserve to do other riders jobs for them.
  4. So we agree to disagree. Actually, I've just written a piece on this subject too! Snap!
  5. If Becker is fully fit, dont think Gilkes would be any better.
  6. Wishful thinking, but if we could get Becker and Gilkes back in the saddle come the play offs, I’d back the Lions over two legs over anyone (yes, that includes Ipswich). Injuries and form between now and then of course could play a major part in that, but that’s speedway.
  7. Can anyone explain why Birmingham preferred to keep Hagon over Edwards?
  8. To the best of my knowledge neither of these competitions are usually broadcast on Polish TV (except possibly when staged in Poland) And why would Polish TV wish to broadcast the European Pairs in competition with the Polish Championship Final on the same day. The list of winners is hardly stellar: https://pl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mistrzostwa_Europy_par_na_żużlu As for the Euro Junior Teams it's been going since 2008 and the main feature is the constant hanging of the upper age limit. Funnily enough I've just written an article about an event that exactly fits your description - the World Speedway League.
  9. Should have done it when the internet and social media started... Running their own "closed shop" with scant regard for sporting authenticity, and putting their employees needs forward, before the fans, was never going to get a free pass in the modern digital age... "Oh, for the 1970's eh?"☺️ One league will just mean guestfest after guestfest, particularly on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday due to the inevitable clashes with Sweden, Denmark and Poland,, so it still won't be taken seriously by the media. Or . They don't sign riders from those nations... And that leaves (?) to fill the 70 places, (if they run it with five riders teams)... Personally, if it is one league, then run with guestfest after guestfest but do it on the best night for each club to deliver the best crowd . They simply cannot bring credibility to the sport, as they would have surely done it by now, as they must know the adverse impact it has had to crowds over the past decade or so, as riders went missing time and time again.. Sell the night out at the Speedway on the best night for you individually ,rather than try and sell any importance in the league itself.. As that (as we have all seen for a long time, and still continue to see today), would be a tough sell...
  10. Waste of time and money these days. Just can't take it seriously anymore with all the stupid rules!
  11. No riders to sign? Others team have signed riders recently and Parr said in the Speedway Star today he's spoken to a few. Need to make a move soon because even though Redcar haven't had a home fixture for weeks which is another contributing factor to GB speedways decline they will amazingly have ridden in 75% of their fixtures and thus be prevented from making signings.
  12. So we all should just accept it? Say nothing? It’s speedway?Or just stop going?

  14. Got one, that’s how I worked out he’d missed one match. You’re wanting him replaced so you should be happy they’ll get a guest, but be realistic, he’s representing Team GB and there's no riders to sign. Plenty of riders missing meetings these days as Poland is number 1 and riders chase the money elsewhere before UK speedway implodes.
  15. Comfortable win and Jason Edwards take a bow Hope all ok with Doyle and Dan isn’t fit either
  16. Leicester are the team to beat … comfortably beat Belle Vue over 2 legs and now beat Sheffield over 2 legs
  17. Gotta disagree. FIM Europe are the lap-dogs of OneSport, etc. Just ask Armando!
  18. I agree not many to get in but they will have to try and get someone because that 7 currently is not winning anything 🤔
  19. Missed Edinburgh away, would have missed Workington at home until they dropped out, missing tomorrow and Saturday and next Friday.Get a calculator (Steve??)
  20. Who else is out there? Can't really think of an improvement.
  21. Changes luming for Sheffield watching steads interview 🤔
