Ipswich v Sheffield Thursday 16th July

I won a heat at Foxhall after gating first. I was only cutting across the track to get a burger and ended up winning the heat as I “impressively blocked all attempts to pass”. Not my families only claim to fame there as Mum won heat 7 there one year on her scooter when she was desperate for a pee. -

He didn’t you’re right, but he’s picked up form elsewhere in recent weeks and is riding very well. I guess availability was an issue and they thought with his good form, he was the best option available. -
Should be a cracker. I’ve asked if they will name the final in your honour as they have used your ideas to run the show. No expensive GP stars. Check. Run at weekend. Check. Cheap entrance fee. Check. Appeal to families. Check. Quick turnaround in the 30 odd heats, so no getting board in between heats. Check. Bringing on the next generation. Check. An event where you don’t need to worry about guests or du’s. Check. Jeopardy. Check, or as much jeopardy as we get in the other individual meeting Belle Vue run (PCMT). Nice modern facilities to view the racing. Check. The only thing holding us back this weekend is the podium, unless you can think of anything. The golden era starts here.

That’s all we can do really isn’t it? They’ve tried all the “five year plan” nonsense before only to rip it all up 12 months later and change things. There’s so much uncertainty in British Speedway unfortunately with developers/Tracks closing, that we can only really view things short term and take each year as it comes and see what clubs come to the table for the following year. Nothing much is really going to change while the current incumbents are still ruling the roost in terms of taking the sport forward with fresh plans and ideas also.

There has been numerous mentions of significant dropoff of attendances within the Premiership clubs. This would be of have concern to many clubs but why? Will you / won't you continue as a fan in 2027 under the current structure? Why are attendances down? Why are Promoters so blind to public opinion?

Why have we got a rising star in Will Cairns replacing Kevin Juhl Pedersen at 6, didn't exactly go that well when BV were here a few weeks ago. -

Was going to say similar GM but from memory he looked a lot better here last year. Surprisingly impressive in fact! Klindt can win races here also we know that. He likes Foxhall and openly names it as one of his better tracks. -
then in 2027 we can hope everyone limps through to 2028 and repeat

You’ve got to feel for Sheffield here. It can’t be understated how much of a blow losing Tru7 must have been, especially when no replacement was forthcoming,, To then lose your GP star through injury who without question would have put bums on seats, is another kick in the nuts. Hopefully they can limp through the rest of this season, get a new main sponsor on board this winter and then go again in 2027.

Its hard to knock him really. Shows hes a grafter. Plastering alone is a physically demanding job and riding in two leagues plus abroad , hes making a very decent living for himself.

On a recent Dan T Vlog, both him and Kelsey were commenting on how quick Klindt is when in front... (He had just beat Dan in the previous race).. And both said that it is very difficult to get near him once he is leading... -
Well done once again, Richard Coleman. 19 quid instead of 25 quid full price, will hopefully tempt SOME of those who have been tempted to stay away and watch the stream at 15 quid a pop, to attend and watch it live for only 4 quid more.

He is a true old National Leaguer in many ways - combined both and probably did / does pretty well out of it. Means he has an income out of season too. -

I can think of worse guests to go for actually - I've seen him lower the colours of Jason and Emil at Foxhall previously, if he gates he's often difficult to beat! I would counter argue that Sheffield never have a better chance to win with Klindt replacing Jack 😉 -
He is actually, possibly, the perfect kind of rider the UK version of the sport needs.... A part time Speedway rider.. Six months work riding Speedway, 12 months doing some other job...

Yep he is the blue print for any UK rider that realises they won't reach the gp aside from needing to work on his presentation skills when turning up for a meeting he has played the game like a finely tuned fiddle in both leagues in the UK. -
For me personally, it purely depends on whether the team is worth watching, rather than how many meetings there are. I brought a season ticket again this year because I felt it was right to support the new owner, despite not being particularly enthused with the team put together (and yes I know they done what they could in difficult circumstances). Despite having that season ticket, I’ve still missed a couple of meetings because I couldn’t be bothered to trek across town to watch a team that doesn’t particularly excite me. All the negative noise on here doesn’t bother me with people slamming British Speedway on a daily basis with one thing or another, it’s simply whether the team I’m watching is worth the effort to get up there and watch. I’ll wait to see the line up Coleman and co put together for ‘27 before I make any decision on whether I’ll regularly attend or not regardless of how many fixtures there’ll be.
