  1. Past hour
  2. Friday afternoon here in Aus, and we've just watched the coverage. I would say that Ellis was caught out by the patchy track in his first ride ... hardly kamikaze. Is he expected to hold back in a Grand Final? No doubt if he had settled for the inside line, there'd be criticism that he didn't try the outside 🙄 To others calling for a rerun: the ref didn't put the lights on until the leader had started the third lap, and the Regs allow a race to be awarded from that point ...
  3. We were robbed of more box office action there! I’ve no doubt Emil would have hunted down those in front of him the way he was going. May not have caught Fricke this time, but would have certainly put him under pressure as he was far quicker all night. Emil was a bit unfortunate actually. Douglas locked up in front of him and made it difficult for Emil to avoid him.
  4. That was a pretty good meeting, the Leicester track provides good opportunity for racing and of course the tension was visible. I expected Brennan in heat 15.
  5. OK,so Woffinden being picked is surprising to some but at least it fits the definition of wildcard, rather than just the next three after the top 7.
  6. I dont think we saw the best version of Leicester last night but much of that is down to Ipswich's performance and not allowing the Lions to be at their best. The reserves were the main difference, Kemp is such a frustrating enigma. Emil and Brennan were outstanding, the former was unfortunate in 15 when Douglas parked it in front of him. The second leg ought to be a formality but if Leicester make some starts and get an early lead it could get interesting. Expect the Witches to hit 50 though and have it won before heat 15.
  7. Or simply beaten by a better side? Ipswich have a stronger team than Leicester, it’s pretty simple really.
  8. Really? They won by 8 at your place earlier on in the season! In fact they were beating just about everybody until they lost Doyle and Thompson in the space of a few days which punctured the Ipswich tyres. Neither Doyle nor Thompson have actually been the same since those injuries either. Thompson was going like a train and riding like a seasoned heat leader until he broke his wrist. Hasn’t hit those heights since and neither has Doyle. That could have provided an opportunity for others, but the strength of the side means they still looks like comfortably coming out on top.
  9. It’s advantage Witches for sure but the can be no complacency! A 1-5 in heat 1 and will fire op Leicester and make the Witches nervous!
  10. It SHOULD be, but after the way things went against us the last couple of years, don’t think any of us are counting our chickens! Ellis is an issue. Can be covered ok away, not so much at home especially when Dan has admitted he hasn’t enjoyed riding at Foxhall recently and has been struggling here. That could be a ray of hope for Leicester. They did win by four earlier in the season, but with the caveat of us missing Doyle and Thompson with R/R and Hume accumulating seven points for the two of them. A fast start will calm any nerves.
  11. Today
  12. Heat 15 has thrown a spanner in the works but a small spanner at best. This is the Ipswich side we haven't really seen all season, strong reserves and two world class riders setting the standards. I really think Ipswich just need a couple of early 4 2s and it's done. I wouldn't have any complaints either, they were everyone's favourites for the title before a bike had even turned. Proud as a lions fan regardless of the outcome, didn't expect the KO cup or a play off final so I'm still happy with our season overall even if we get smashed at Foxhall, and heck I've got nothing against Ipswich. Let's hope the second leg gets tasty!!
  13. Agree is irrelevant, it's talent and nerve that counts. I've seen enough riders to spot who's got it and who hasn't, nothing dismissive about that.
  14. I’m not so sure it’s game over quite yet. Ipswich need to fully focus over the first 6 heats on Thursday. Leicester do go well at Foxhall. It’s only a 1-5 from being square.
  15. Kemp is a real talent & I fully expected him to have a brilliant career. I think most Ipswich fans had hoped he would become another Louis, world class & dedicated to Ipswich. However there have been rumours that Louis wasn’t happy with Kemps attitude. When you see him pulling up at the back you can understand why.
  16. Neville’s best time was his half season at Ipswich in 92 ended up a almost 8 point rider in division 1
  17. I'm going to both legs of the KO Cup Final 🏆 as I like the sausage n mash in Middlesbrough. Plus they know how to make a very nice flat white at the Costa in the Cleveland Centre! 😀 I hope everything is now ok with Richard off track so he can get back to what he does on track. If he's not available then I doubt Adam Ellis will be covering for him as he withdrew after crashing out at Leicester last night. PIRATES ☠️ will be building more than a 6 point lead this time so I'm going for a 52-38 first leg lead. C'mon the Boyzzz ☠️ the Cup is ours 🏆
  18. Fair play to Will for trying to stay upright after Danny King clearly knocked him off. Correct decision to exclude King.
  19. Magnus Karlsson let the family down. Not much between Alan & Andy Grahame.
  20. Yesterday
  21. Are you sure? Adam is obviously not only declared in a British development league team and he is not replacing the home teams #1. Does it work because of the Play Offs?
  22. Thought there was some decent racing at times 🤷🏼‍♂️ ok wasn’t a thriller, but there was some good races in there. Wasn’t as good as the Sheffield meeting in the semi, but thought it was better than both semi’s at Foxhall and the NSS. Fingers crossed Adam isn’t too beat up. Been in the wars a bit.
  23. Tom Farndon much better than Sid Farndon. Peter Craven a lot better than Brian Craven. Jack Parker better than Norman Parker. Jack Milne and Cordy Milne, now there's a poser.
  24. Huge fans of both of these two, in the BL I considered Shooey the better rider (his league form was certainly more consistent) but Kelly was almost at the end of his carrer in the very late 80's to early 90s! I always felt PK was the better of the Karlssons, but acknowledge both were damn good! Advantage Witches for sure but heat 15 is a reminder how it can go wrong, they should be taking a bigger lead to Foxhall. No room to be complacenet on Thursday. Well done the Witches reserves too - whilst Emil gave a great performance as did TomB - Dan and Jason did a complete job over their rival reserves tonight.
