  1. Past hour
  2. Seems a lot for match races. I think one downside of the Gold/Silver helmet challenges was fans didn't usually know in advance of it happening at their track. So the extra needed crowds didn't materialise to pay for the additional racing. But if your figures of £1000 are correct I'd certainly tell the riders where to stick the helmets.
  3. Every business should have its own business plan, but if the collective business model of the industry they work in is failing, then its going to fail despite their individual efforts.
  4. The maths is done differently than you state I think thats why the figures they come out with are what they are. 2.35 - 2.5% = 2.291 = 2.29 8.60 - 2.5% = 8.385 = 8.39 They are rounding up or down to the final number I think. Although nothing would surprise me so if they decided they wanted to change it on a rider by rider basis I wouldn’t be shocked.
  5. He has been putting in a lot of time in the gym, looks very healthy. Could be a master stroke if his head is back in the game. I’m not sure I can see anyone taking the risk though.
  6. No successful business wants to lose money. They want to thrive in a thriving industry. Which speedway isn’t and won’t be any time soon. No I don’t know their business plan but I know it won’t involve speedway long term. Nobody’s will.
  7. Lewis Kerr end of 2023 GSA: 8.60 2.5% discount = 0.215 2024 Starting GSA for Berwick: 8.39 [8.60 less 0.21 discount] => the discount is rounded DOWN.
  8. What successful business wants lose money. ps what is Glasgows business plan.Im not sure that you really know that one.🤔
  9. I know it has been mentioned on here but Max Perry riding at Berwick as a home rider will add a point onto his starting average.
  10. If Glasgow and Poole were in the premiership then that would go a long way to making it more of a prestigious league. One that if they came out on top of, their ambitions would be possibly met. But I’m talking sporting ambitions, not just business ones with local derbies etc. I understand that businesses have to be profitable and sustainable, but therein lies the problem. Everyone is out to look after themselves and not look at the bigger picture of saving our sport. That’s why it’s going down the pan rapidly. And Glasgows business plan will amount to nothing.
  11. The British reduction is rounded up, i.e Perry is 2.35 - 2.5% = 0.05875, which makes .06 = 2.29 If that makes sense.
  12. As well liked as danyon is he needs to be 100% fit or left out and I really don’t understand wanting smith back he was useless most of the season and I don’t see any prospect of him improving I’d much rather a youngster at 2 points, someone who has a chance of putting a point or two on their average unlike smith who went backwards this year
  13. Do they round up or down? Makes all the difference
  14. Same, Had 7-day date sensitive documents turn up - after 20 days, fortunately I anticipated this & had already acted on them, not the point though. I picked last Star in newsagent on Staurday, as a subscriber last issue I received was w/e 29th November. Still, prob means I'll have plenty to read over Christmas after they (hopefully) all arrive at once....
  15. Just saying, don't think that'll happen of course. But it would make the team stronger than the one we had that qualified for the playoffs in 2024.
  16. Today
  17. Don't want to sound mean, but honestly don't know how you see it like that? Morris definitely is probably the best value signing in the league but Fredriksen was dreadful away from home and Palovaara averaged below 6 when in the top order 🤷‍♂️
  18. So what would you think would be reasonable pay for the riders, bearing in mind those on, say £200 a point would expect £600 for a win and £400 for second?
  19. Ahh that's good to know. I guess it's because I'm just seeing the you tube views on my tv.
  20. A hat tip to Stewart and the promotion, so far I’m seriously impressed and going by the social media reaction I’m not the only one. They’ve secured four of surely the most sought after signatures in the Championship after last season. The heat leader trio should rival any that are produced and I think Lasse Fredriksen showed last season he has potential to be a heat leader too before his unfortunate injury. I hope we can finish strong, Danyon and Jack Smith are must signs as long as Danyon is feeling up to it. Silverware incoming?
  21. Do you not think Berwick have suffered enough of Etheridge to last a lifetime. Plenty other duffers out there they could sign instead.
  22. Depending on what Berwick do at reserve, I fancy them to be right up there this season. Very solid squad
  23. They do have some control via the terms of the contract agreed between club& rider. aka as I understand, from 2027, riders contracted to Ekstraliga will only be allowed to ride for one other team in Europe. Of course if they don’t want that limitation then they are quite entitled not sign the contract.
