I like the concept of Northampton becoming a speedway track but looking at a map its hard to see where a "local" crowd will come from. I think its pie in the sky to expect Peterborough and Coventry fans to make an 80 mile round trip for home meetings. Depending on where a Peterborough fan lives Kings Lynn or Leicester could be closer. I hope Northampton does become an active speedway venue I just hope they have been realistic with a business plan.

Was interesting to hear Bewley on TNT publicly say how much he enjoys riding Foxhall despite not doing particularly well here. He’s said the same over the tannoy at Foxhall in the past, but I just put that down to the fact he was being interviewed in front of a big Ipswich crowd and saying all the right things. He’ll soon be hitting the big scores here when he rides it most weeks next year. 😁

Im not talking about if KL had a 9 pointer instead of a 6 pointer im talking about this seasons actual line up, theres no doubt Cooks long injury affected them, we only finished above them in the table by a couple of wins, many were saying before the season KL are the dark horses, they looked a better side when he returned, just saying it wasnt beyond the realms of possibility considering our vulnrability at no2 and in the reserve berths. What i mean is calling a meeting off just because it " might " rain later on in the late evening. Quite obvious Poole wanted the second leg at home to see what they needed to score, Redcar should apply the same as i sure they would prefer the second leg. Very silly comment to say as far as your aware! Loads of meetings are called off per season but just seemed too coincidental that Poole was a preempted .

Maybe Bears 'fans' should read Gavin Parr's comments on FB agreeing with the decision to call it off early. It saved the cost of an overnight hotel for the team south of Oxford which he was able to cancel as riders hadn't started to travel!!

Some absolutely crazy comments on here. Fact is Danny is not overly bothered about having the 2nd leg. Everything was in place to run yesterday, BSN had set off and were well on their way when things all went on hold. Forecasts weren't good so decision was made. This decision had to be made before midday otherwise costs soar. Having witnessed the rain we did have, maybe the meeting could have been finished before the heavens opened.

What about when there's clearly no demand? Put the prices up 😂

It's common practice in other sports to charge different prices for different grade matches- speedway is probably slow on the uptake! And that's without the model of 'dynamic pricing' where ticket prices vary for the same sections based on demand. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I doubt that is the reason people are drifting away. Perceived value for money is a much bigger issue.

I don't think the ever did, wasn't it down to Martin Hunter and Ben Duffil approaching them with the idea instead of the other way around?

That makes no sense, why even offer to host the match if they wanted the 2nd leg at home (as is their right)? What would they have done of the weather was perfect.

Redcar will be using a guest all season, one week shouldn't make much difference to their team.
