what on earth are you on about? i just asked what average he would start on.
-
I like the look of Oxford.
-
Klindt would be ok as belle Vue don't race on a polish meeting day š
-
Gilkes will outscore both KJP and Hausl if he stays fit.
-
The young German lad, could be a master stroke, but seems to have been signed on the back of the SON 2 event, will probably be like a lot of others and crap himself at the dump and Plymouth
-
I'd say mainly over Pedersen and Hausl. How are they going to perform over here? Pedersen hasn't really shown that much overseas for me to think he'll be a world beater, and Hausl is a complete unknown. He could come in and perform like Nagel and take to UK tracks, or he could be another Francis Gusts and really struggle. Too many unknowns to make Glasgow favourites at this stage, but that could all change. I'd say Poole look the strongest so far (if they get Rushen), with Oxford second and Glasgow third.
-
Do not see that at all, Glasgow top 3 are at the very least comparable, reserves are also comparable, I have seen Sam Hagon have some terrific meetings at Poole passing other riders in the process, yes it is possible to make passes at Poole! Hodder has also had good meetings and is improving, our reserves are the key because I would think KJP and Hausl should outscore Gilkes and Bowes any day.

What question marks, out of curiosity? Iām not challenging it; Iām genuinely wondering where the concern is because as a Glasgow fan, Iām blinkered. -
That's the best we can hope for
-
With the points limit being as it is, I imagine all teams will have a long ish tail
-
Thereās definitely no Klindt, thatās come from the man himself
-
I've been a fan of NKI for years, but he's not getting any younger. Zagar is a year younger, has more of a relationship with Belle Vue and is on a lower average. Wouldn't touch Klindt with a barge pole.

I would think it is because the desire is to have riders that are of a standard fit to be in the top league rather than filling a team with fodder to gerrymander the remaining places Personally with a RS position in place I would say that the other reserve should actually have to be at least 4 points let alone 3 or even2! (and non Brits should not be allowedto drop below this figure) The other point in this which I will put forward in a devil's advocate role (because I understand the attraction of wanting the best for your team) This shows some of the reason why the sport in the state it is - despite all that has gone on, and the league all but falling apart, (not out of the woods yet) the first serious chat about team building involves how the regulations may be changed/manipulated in order to give a team an advantage And we wonder how we got to this point..... -
Poole are stronger than Glasgow by a long mile, lot of question marks over the Glasgow team for me.

2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams
Hawk127 replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The decision to continue with a top league may backfire given that a lot of the former top riders in the UK have opted for Swedish, Danish and Polish sides leaving few riders of that calibre to grace the top tier of UK speedway. You could also understand why they have made the decision given the logistics of moving around mainland Europe being easier as opposed to having to fly in and out of the UK and maintain equipment here as well as Europe. Time will tell but it will take something radical to entice riders to come back to these shores in the future. It could well be that the authorities in the UK have finally burnt their bridges. -
Ok fair enough there is hope for the rest of us then.
-
start on a 2 in the championship right? makes no sense to start on a higher average in the 'top' league.

What will 2026 UK speedway bring?

The play-offs will certainly stay, no chance of them disappearing imo. Maybe it'll be top 2 straight final or top 3 if it's a 5 team league. If they get 6, will stick to the top 4, which they did before. While I dislike play-offs & think table toppers should be Champions, it's not like British Speedway is alone in doing this, so wouldn't say it harms the sports credibility (guests probably do that more). -

I'm not saying he won't do, but KJP averaging 7+ would be an incredible achievement. I don't think he's shown anything so far that would suggest he could manage that in his first season. Out of the two of them, I think Hausl looks like he has more potential. Still, good to see 2 new faces instead of the usual, good luck to them both. -
It would be a lot better for team building if whichever one isnāt RS started on a 2. That would open up the options a lot more and leave a perfectly sized Peter Kildemand shaped holeā¦
-
if that 6 does turn out to be correct then im surprised there is no Klindt, and would guess the number 2 would probably be a young dane, leaves a fairly long tail. Does Scott definitely start on a 3 average if hes not a RS?
