As an Arena Essex fan, not been to a meeting since 2018, still buy the star every week, and sub to BSN or just stuck to watching highlights or whatever has been put on youtube from around Europe. I quite like watching meetings at home whilst i can go a make a cup when they do tractor racing etc. Said it before on another thread, speedway needs to forget about the top riders, start bringing youngsters in, you have that little track near Manchester that is used for ride and slide days, its perfect, in a field, no fence, we need tons of them all around the country, just using 125cc bikes, perfect to get a new generation interested. If there was one in Essex i would go and have a go myself, im 53 and its been nearly 15 years since i last put my leg over a speedway bike as i used to go and have a little spin around Iwade just for fun. But as for the title of this thread, NO just scrap it, your going to have to sooner rather than later anyway. -

Is that right though? Foreigners yes but we should be encouraging & proud if our own young lads can get gigs in Poland, Sweden, Denmark & SGPs? All thing's go well, Cairns & Rushen look to be our big hopes and we MUST NOT stand in their way of their futures. In 1 big league, if a team is happy to sign a Brit knowing they will miss a high proportion of weekend fixtures then so be it. British Speedway could help itself by waiting for the Polish & SGP fixture lists & each club working around them. -
As a loyal supporter for 60+ years, it's clear that British Speedway cannot continue to exist in its current form. In 2026 we've lost Birmingham and in recent years we’ve seen the loss of many iconic teams such as Wolverhampton, Coventry and Swindon. It seems that other teams are now under threat unless some radical changes are made. Along with many paying customers, I have a vision for how speedway has to develop if it is to survive. Decades of the sport's inefficiency has finally come to a head. British speedway needs to set its own agenda and stop kowtowing to regulations set in Poland. Speedway has bred a generation of riders who want to have their cake and eat it: they want to earn their bread and butter in the UK leagues and chase the Polish Zloty to put the jam on top. This faces the British authorities with the dilemma of having to dance to the Polish tune when trying to plan the home fixture list. This cannot go on. For survival, we need a single nationwide league of 15 teams wherein all its riders are contracted and committed exclusively to British racing between March and October. A 28-match league programme plus a further 12 matches in a split north-south KO cup competition will guarantee teams a regular weekly match programme, and a sensible rider payment policy will provide ample earnings potential for riders over a guaranteed 40-match season. But the last thing we want is for British speedway and its contracted riders to be isolated from European competition. So speedway authorities must open negotiations with its European counterparts for European competition on two levels: 1) An annual European League of Nations, with initially the four participating countries of Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Poland. 2) An annual European Champions’ League, featuring the top teams of all the four participating nations of Great Britain, Sweden, Denmark and Poland. A nationwide league of 15 teams in meaningful competition - with the addition of the possibility of genuine European glory - will revive the waning interest of fans, riders, media and potential investors. It is time for the Promoters to bite the bullet to avoid inevitable extinction of British speedway. So I've set up a petition demanding that the British Speedway Promoters Ltd take these matters on board with immediate effect. Spot on. In the Prem, Harris' 2026 GSA from 10 matches is about a tenth higher than his starting GSA - whereas from 12 Championship matches his 2026 GSA is more than a point lower than his starting figure. -
Unfortunately with there being no mods, users can post what they want now and simply get away with it, which is just one reason why so many former users have stopped using the Forum and also very sad (a bit like the user you have quoted). So do I.

Cook, Barker, Bewley, no doubt all will be revealed after the semi final at the weekend. -
After a few weeks of no track action at the GT Tyres arena the Comets are in action against the highly fancied Poole Pirates team. The Workington riders whilst having no team action have been busy riding for their respective Premiership sides (Batch, Tate and Drew) and also guesting for other Championship teams. Max and Vinnie have also been guesting a few times for championship teams so hopefully the guys will be race ready. The Poole team are packed with heavy hitters including the formidable pairing of Rushen and Cairns, while the heat leaders include Lawson , Cook and Kerr! The weather at the weekend is forecast to be a bit cooler than of late which should be better for the racing surface. ** Remember it is back to the 6pm start time**
