They are now in a position where they have to ensure that either Ipswich or Northampton run otherwise the league will collapse My guess is Northampton is being worked on as the backup option if Ipswich can't however I expect someone somehow will run Ipswich in 26

Spot on ! my worry is that the strategy for SFL is to find a wealthy fool and in exchange for his or her money we will change the sport to their wishes surely put a credible two league structure in place with promotion and relegation. Play offs to decide who gets promoted in championship. And play offs in premiership to decide who gets relegated. who comes top wins the league in both divisions. begin to phase out doubling up by only allowing riders who are living in the uk to double up. once you achieve this you can then get tv interested again with lots of meaningful fixtures -
I would imagine the cost for any prospective promoter would be prohibitive, of course some contributors on here are far better qualified to judge then me. Just can't see it happening in all honesty but If they do push it over the line then fair play.

Fall back position if no deal can be agreed A BSPL "lease" off Louis for a season to ensure 5 teams?
-
What about Northampton?

I think by some method Ipswich will run The Northampton thing looks too much to do in to short a time to happen to me unless they do run the team from Oxfud/elsewhere in the meantime
-
If the Ipswich deal doesn't go through the whole thing might implode.

I would expect if the Ipswich sale doesn't go through then a BSPL "lease" arrangement for a season will be attempted to ensure 5 teams
-
You are correct on both counts. the fence has to be a polyfoam barrier but as reported in this weekโs speedway star the company that provided the fences has gone bust.

If the Ipswich sale does not go through for some reason and they don't come to the tapes this year will that be the end of the premiership dream for all the teams? Also all this talk of Northampton almost ready to come to the party is there a question over the safety and air fence? With Spedeworth owning both Northamptom and Mildenhall tracks one has to assume that both tracks safety barrier for the cars are very similar. The air fence at Mildenhall was declared unsafe due to the concrete and steel post / wire wall at the of the fence and they were not permitted to join the league even with the extra protection between the air fence and the car fence. Has something different been designed for the Northampton track to make it acceptable for racing or is the car fence a different design? Just the thoughts of an old man on a Sunday afternoon waiting for the season to begin. ๐

Good on the management team he's young and could be an unpolished gem. I always prefer when management take a chance on a youngster who might be a future quality rider rather than someone whos best days were a decade ago and have no improvement left in them.

Started listening but got bored pretty quickly - lots of words with little substance. Godfrey was far from convincing.

Not sure Iโm going to be on anymore, Iโve spit my dummy out over not being asked on this week ๐ although I am slightly annoyed at not being asked on this week and how they went about it Iโve really had the wind knocked out of my sails over other things in speedway over the last few weeks and itโs really tested my love of the sport, Iโm sure Iโll get over it at some point -
Iโll be concerned if we get to the end of next week with no announcement, thatโs for sure. Fingers crossed we get positive news early next week.

Dean when your next on can you address the viewers with a set nail clippers close up lol ๐

You worry about ya own shower of sh%@e ๐๐๐๐๐

What struck me was he said if anybody came to them for help it would be forthcoming, surely the BSPL should be proactively approaching any prospective speedway operations and offering them help, they shouldn't need to be asking for it.
