  1. Past hour
  2. Just a thought can't see Deane giving up Saturday's for anything else.
  3. In my view there is no chance of Kings Lynn making the play offs, there last chance was Sheffield beating Ipswich away which did not happenn.
  4. Phil Morris mentioned a few weeks ago in the Speedway Star that they had turned down a good offer from Premier Sports to cover this season. I think their subscriber numbers would be too low for that to be worthwhile.
  5. Today
  6. Not yet they ain’t. Ipswich still need two points and with Doyle in town Thursday and the way Ipswich struggled against a depleted Sheffield last night, that isn’t a certainty. The last fixture is Leicester away so likely no points there. It’s possible we stay on 18 points. Lynn have Leicester at home, Northampton away. Difficult to see Lynn getting the bonus against Leicester, but if they win at Northampton the bonus will be theirs and they’ll also finish on 18 if they beat Leicester at home also. Not sure who finishes above who in that scenario, I haven’t looked that closely other than the points on the board Let’s see what happens Thursday.
  7. Probably due to home scoring. I don’t know the exact stats, but my guess is Mulford is better statistically than Edwards at Foxhall. Mulford rides Foxhall well. It’s a moot point anyway. Mayfield won’t be dropping Edwards at this stage.
  8. Maybe this year it hasn’t been such a disparity due to a couple exiting the scheme due to age and/or average so not as obvious, fair enough. The whole thing needs binning IMO I’ve never liked it or the way they’re selected since the get go. I’ve never agreed with the fact that just because your team has been crap one year, you then get the privilege of first pick the following year in a totally new season. Where you finished in one season should be totally irrelevant to what happens the following year. Nonsense.
  9. Premier Sports most likely I'd say, when (if) they work out who would be paying the production costs
  10. Wow a reply from Ouch, I feel deeply honoured and privileged!! I thought I was was on your ignore list. It is a great shame Wolves are no longer a team, another one on the list of ex teams.
  11. Riders wouldn’t benefit. Would be absorbed in the promotors pockets.
  12. I absolutely agree that the prices at belle Vue are good. I just think this needs to be reflected at other venues. When you turn 18 at Sheffield you go from paying £5 to £25. Students also only get a £2 discount there. I just think we're losing lots of younger fans from ages 18-25.
  13. Live updates on Saturday from Vasad from 1pm UK time https://live.baansportfansite.nl/event/1152/fim-flat-track-world-championship-of-hungary-vasad.html
  14. The powers that be correctly brought in the ringer rule after Wolves signed Tai for the last three weeks for their league campaign before making & winning the playoffs. It didn’t allow for injury replacement but was changed after they saw the error of their ways. Unfortunately, Belle Vue were the second team to take advantage of the rule change that season but critically it meant they could maintain their strong finish and clinch the title. The injured rider caveat was swiftly removed and this had the desired effect the following season as the table topping Aces suffered a cruel injury blow to Charles. The trouble now is other teams have had to suffer from this ridiculous rule change that sees what used to be a necessary evil in the guest rider facility, turn into a mandatory rule - nuts.
  15. Could we see British Speedway make a tv return?
  16. Plenty. But your best bet would be Mulford or Pijper. I'd stick with Edwards - but why replace the second best rising star (based on 2026 Premiership all match average exc bonus) with one who would be overmatched by all the existing Rising Stars.
  17. Heard any rumours? Am I going mad (or have a reached a certain age) or do I remember that a Promoter said that they hoped to get 2027 rules and regs sorted out in the summer this year so they could plan and sign riders earlier to provide riders, promoters and fans with security regarding the next season......
  18. The six current Rising Stars all have Championship level averages between 5.74 and 6.78. I'd say they are very well matched. I'd agree that there is not a great choice of new talent to replace riders dropping out. Mulford and Pijper look the best in the short term. It really would be better having rising stars in the Championship
  19. Belle Vue have a student price that our group make use of. For me, partner (2 adults) daughter & boyfriend (both students) plus my partners two grandkids and three mates (15y x 2 & 11y x 3), it cost less than £90 for the nine of us to watch at the NSS, I’m happy with that.
  20. Yes It is a shame Dan can't ride for Sheffield like Lambert like Lambert did for Belle Vue a few years ago.
  21. British speedway has been rather lucky with the Swedish tyre rule, new Polish ruling and Mayfield at Ipswich simultaneously. If we get a higher level of riders it will initially increase the crowd numbers. We need to maintain those numbers! So, the presentation needs to be much improved. We need better introductions to the meetings and more interest in the grading breaks to keep people coming back. Discussions with Plymouth and Poole who have increased their attendances recently would be useful. Student/young person pricing, better social media or generally local advertisement. This could be great for British speedway but we need good advertisement and presentation to go with it!
  22. Most rising stars have an average over 3 so a 40 point limit for a 1-7 would work out as yet another drop and make it tough to fit in any extra top riders, should they choose our league.
  23. Agree, although weather obviously plays a part in that. A bit of rain forecast for Thursday so highly unlikely to get the prep exactly the same.
