Absolutely, no fault of his and no way will the club management not pay him.

Oxford always do their best to try and get the meeting on. Theres many clubs IMO who could learn from Jamie Courtney and his approach to getting meetings on. Every team has more or less a 4 month season window from may to August when the weather is generally better and still teams have 2-3 week gaps in the fixture list.
-
I've known some clubs do it for the final but not the semi! Maybe Belle Vue assumed it was going to be their last match of the season 🤔
-
midweek fixtures doesnt help at all.

I would estimate about 2000 Max... The mainstand was about half full (900 or so), with possibly over 1000 on the back straight (there was still loads of room there)... There was the usual lack of local promoting of the play offs, however, I believe Granada Reports mentioned it at around half six, (just over an hour before start!)... Amazed people didn't put their teas down and get themselves down there!!! I have only been once this season so I got there around 6.45 to try and get a space on Kirky Lane, (as I remember these spaces usually get filled quickly), and half the road was available, which tended to suggest there and then that the crowd wasn't going to be "bumper".. I have said many times, Speedway needs to find a way to get Away Fans in attendance in decent numbers... There may have been Witches fans there last night but they were few and far between... Ironically, given the home crowd levels, the Aces do take a decent following away and I remember around 150 or more at Ipswich a couple of seasons ago for the first leg of the POSF.. And obviously 400 or so at Sheffield and around 300 at Leicester when they won their recent titles.. 150 Witches fans, either sat together or stood together, would have given the meeting the feeling of being an "event", (that a POSF should be seen as), rather than the mundane, run of the mill, evening it ended up being.. No idea why clubs don't subsidise Away Fans admission (huge reductions), given so very few go now.. It would raise the atmosphere levels massively...

Bewley and Kurtz rising points money

What was the crowd level. One end of Main Stand looked Ok but not sure about the rest of Stadium.
-
Yes, £27 to stand up.... I presume it was felt a "bumper crowd" would be there, so the extra couple of quid across the board would be "bunce"... Kerching!!!! Season Ticket Holders also needed to purchase tickets too, don't know if they paid the normal rate or the POSF rate... A great plan....
-
2 of the team not even at 2nd half Midland Development League standard, let alone asking people to pay to watch them at NDL level! Poor from those who run at junior racing at Birmingham.

I have heard that Belle Vue increased admission prices for yesterdays Semi Final Play off match against Ipswich. Can anyone clarify if that is correct and if so why?

Personally I think it’s absolutely ridiculous, no one is coming out of this mess with any credibility, firstly the club (Kent) must have known something , Vinny situation and realised how to spin it to get coops in, Vinny for the obvious but he’s like lots of young riders relying heavily on others to get him there so presumably things happen and was stuff, bspl and bspa, when they make decisions like this they just don’t seem to realise how it looks in the eyes of people looking at speedway as a professional sport, the referee, he’s obviously not double checked it the day before after coops was announced, but finally it is the fans who suffer, Birmingham on the day had to field a team that was half full of lads who were genuinely happy to ride and do their best and yet they still had to have R/R for a rider?? What the fans really want is 7 riders each team, possibly balanced but 7 v 7, this is the start point for most teams and not premier league, god sake just let kids race and get on with it, embarrassing day on top of other days

I don't think the Rugby Club are flush with cash, they seem to think Speedway is noisy though I suspect many of those who make the decisions have no idea what Speedway is (Noisy motorbikes seems to be a generalisation) and the bikers Club having their HQ on site seems to be a little bit of a contradiction, I do believe there are possibilities of staging Speedway at Portway however influential Committee members probably need to be convinced about noise issues, but with the site being next to the M42 planning may be less of an issue than at other sites, parking on site is not an issue and neither is site access, most of the other facilities are already there just needs the track, and someone to sweet talk the Rugby people that the noise is barely more than what can be heard from the motorway traffic. Yes I remember Mike Hailwood being killed down the nearby lanes, I was a delivery driver covering that area at the time, did Mike say it was safer doing Moto GP than riding on roads (riders all go the same way).

Thankfully Cooper Rushen emerged fit and well, god knows the ramifications had he been injured. There is no justifible reason NOT to pay Cooper Rushen, he scored points in good faith, he was in no way at fault and only he had the rides. It does beg the question, who knew what and when? Presumably the Referee , experienced one , asked the question about the dispensation for the Guest and that it complied with the declared 1-7 and advertised team, I can't see how the Referee could be held responsible. The $64,000 question is who is responsible for the fact that VJF could and should have met this commitment and who knew what and when, and if the transport question passes the "sniff test" of credibility? The rider must surely be sanctioned and if Kent management knew in advance that the dispensation for Rushen was not actually valid and failed to tell Rushen, the referee or the BSPL then what sanctions should be applied to them. Or do you spin the coin and say the BSPL should have not assumed kent would change their team and told them that a Guest was no longer applicable. One suspects that had this been a PL or CL match that the BSPL would have been FAR MORE proactive but the fact they don't seem to be merely sums up their complete indifference to the NDL or what ever different bits are now called.
