20 years ago they were only building the Redcar track, it opened in 2006. It was very good until about 3 years ago when there was a following out with the track curator. A rider at the time described the replacement as a farmer with a tractor who didn't know what he was doing. Not saying it's the same guy now but you would think that someone would know given the amount of recent rain the moisture would come out of the base. Maybe they took advise from Phil Morris.

Fricke deserved his wildcard for sure. Doyle actually brings something to the GP's so I think it's another good wildcard pick tbh. I have a theory as to why Woffinden has been given a wildcard, I think Tai will have a retirement year in 2026 and he wants to go out on his terms (Farewell Tour) and the FIM have decided to give him a wildcard based on this knowing that it'll bring good publicity to the Sport throughout the GP Series.

Isn't Woffy now in the 2nd tier in Poland? A strange pick... And coming after such a huge injury not really sure of his impact... Presume it mush be for clicks and sponsors money...

But is that not what all tracks do before the start of a meeting. I would not say that was doctoring would you?

Danny Ford said and I agree, Redcar is the best track in the championship. This time of year can cause havoc with track prep, maybe next meeting will be better.

Didn’t watch this one but the meeting the week previous against Oxford was very poor racing too. Cant remember a worthwhile pass and the gates were so uneven. Well done to the Pirates.

Fricke is the only one I agree with finishing 3 points from the top 7 to qualify automatically. Personally I think Doyle is past it at this level, still a great rider at league level but at most can maybe have one or 2 gps with a decent score. Woffy inclusion is a joke to be honest, not had a competitive race since his horrible crash (and barely any/none since the injury before it too) and back in the GPs, what basis other than popularity/sponsors is he back in?

Wolffy certainly a big surprise, as too Mikkelson not even making the sub riders list when he has finished above Thompson in GP's, Polish and Danish League averages, and way ahead of Huckenbeck and Kvech who constantly prove they are not up to GP standard. Overall however, given the ridiculous bias against Emil and Laguta, a stronger lineup in my view than we've had for some years.

It gets the appropriate criticism because its a poorly prepared track, blue groove/ little to zero dirt, bumps and holes, simple.

Including Woffinden is an absolute joke.

I suspect it is a purely commercial decision. I have great respect for Tai and how he keeps coming back from serious injury, but from a sporting perspective he has declined and there are others who have a stronger case. However, I think attendances at SGP and SON, and the inability to make Cardiff viable , suggests speedway needs to attract a whole new cohort of supporters, and those with more disposable income. I think it may also be a first step in repositioning speedway as an extreme sport not a family sport. Maybe the view is that Tai, with his music following and edgy approach helps with that.

I would imagine he wants Jake again and cant because of 8 day rule.

This is a good competitive line-up, most probably the strongest ever. Sure, Tai's inclusion is a surprise beyond surprise, but (if fit) he will be competitive and will most probably finish higher than 16th (current ranking) at the end of the campaign.

No holes or bumps at Lynn but in fairness Poole is not that bad in that regard these days, I am not sure bumps help the home riders much.

Sadly, I think a lot of what you're missing is nostalgia, not that there's anything wrong with that. Modern day speedway is clearly thriving domestically in Poland, and isn't exactly dead in Sweden, so why is GB struggling? I think you could bring back Wembley, uprights, 4TT and whatever else, but it's too late. It's been like death by a thousand paper cuts following British speedway in the last 25 years. I think where we do agree is that it's probably too far gone now. Sad.

Would like to have seen Parnitskyi in the lineup as I definitely think he would have added something new and raw and also be unfazed by the opposition. The powers that be obviously rate him by naming him reserve . He’ll get his chance as there’ll definitely be injuries . Difference is he won’t get a run at it and grow into it , just the odd opportunity. As for Tai . Shocked with that though it definitely adds interest.

Very much like Lynn, but that is mainly due to the high clay content material which just doesnt suit modern speedway bikes. That said it very, very rarely has bumps and holes. Perhaps a poor track gives Poole greater home advantage and home wins mean more bums on seats. Wouldn't be the first club to do that.

Wonder if Jake Allen is on golfing duty again 🤷‍♂️. Is Nick Morris still ruled out with injury? I know it was a bad crash but no injury news seemed to follow.
