  1. Past hour
  2. It feels like boiling the frog with some people. It's crazy to think we've gone from an 8-team Elite League, 18-team Premier League, plus a decent conference league to what we have now in a little over 20 years. If that happened overnight there'd quite rightly be serious questions asked, if not something more serious. Yet here we are, still being told the sport is in good shape and has an exciting future.
  3. I would hope that Jason, Dan and Tom are the priorities for next year. If the averages allow, then Emil would surely be next. I also think Adam should stay. He seemingly was just finding some good form and he's a good team player. Whenever someone crashed, it was always Adam that was out first to check on them.
  4. Is it time for Royal Mail to loose the "Royal" tag, or should they be ordered to use "Royal Replacement" or perhaps "Guest Delivery" ?
  5. Spot on... "Let's find another way to fudge through another season"... Without the TV six figure sum per team, you cannot see how the GP lads can be afforded anyway... Even if presently a significant part of their salaries is paid by sponsors, the TV money then paid for either rent and other meeting costs, or assisted towards the salaries of other riders.. That £100k leaves a huge black hole to be filled if no TV deal bears fruition...
  6. First team a mile off There is no way Ipswich will not have a team with 2 of King Rew and Ellis in it You have also missed Dan T off of both teams and he will be back We have 3 certain starters … Doyle , Brennan and Thompson … the rest will be dependent on the new points limit
  7. just keep lowering the points limit soon we can have 1 man teams with a 3 pt team limit speedway futures need to look for a long term fix not these stupid short term deals
  8. Playing devil's advocate They have all the targets and obligations for standard day to day Mail but have had all the lucrative parcel deliveries deregulated and offered out to the market The rest of the market don't want the expense of the promise of UK wide guaranteed delivery for standard mail day in day out Effectively they have been tied to providing the 'loss leader' without the accompanying profitable additional lines
  9. Today
  10. The Royal Mail got fined (again) last week for failing to meet delivery targets... They have, (once again), asked for the targets to be lowered.... They are useless...
  11. The current business model is clearly unsustainable. Premiership club dies so a Championship club has to step up to keep the Premiership afloat. Rinse and repeat. This Groundhog Day can only repeat itself a finite number of times, before long there will be no teams left. It’s concerning the number of fans who think things should carry on this way, let alone that the people running the sport seem to agree.
  12. also expect a couple of quid rise per meeting. which wont go down well. my take one league get rid of top stars and drop price at least a fiver. clubs want top riders put on individual events thru season. like we had in the good old days😁
  13. Would agree the problem is definitely Royal Mail.Ihad lots of problems in Dec/Jan.Postman said the same to me regarding Parcel. It has reverted to normal over the summer though. Also believe it was lack of Staff in my area.
  14. Neither teams fits into anything, the points limit has not been announced...
  15. It's been on life support for a while now Brum. It will have to be just one league if we lose a few more tracks, and I just don't see a 'top league' existing in five years time...
  16. Everyone seems to be forgetting the financial side of things when talking about Teams moving up.
  17. 1. Emil Sayfutdinov 2. Jonas Jeppesen 3. Tobiasz Musielak 4. Tom Brennan 5. Jason Doyle 6. Jordan Jenkins 7. Cooper Rushen 1. Jason Doyle 2. Adam Ellis 3. Danny King 4. Keynan Rew 5. Tom Brennan 6. Jonas Jeppesen 7. Cooper Rushen Both teams fit but I get the sense that the second team is more realistic. First team is obviously much stronger 🤷‍♂️
  18. Is that a joke. Premiership is in trouble why should Championship prop it up.
  19. Everybody is welcome to their own views and to be fair it seems pretty much 50/50 from contributors on here about the way forward. Personally, I struggle to understand how removing the GP/top/expensive riders and equally sharing out the remainder will attract more spectators. The cost argument holds more water. The quality would be Championship + at best. I can only speak from personal experience, which is that the crowd numbers at Foxhall in the Doyle/Sayfutdinov era have been substantially higher than the Championship days and even the early Premiership days pre their signing. Of course, you can get some good races between any riders but give me a Heat 13/15 involving Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley and Kurtz any day over one involving lesser quality riders.
  20. I do miss the days where riders had their own personally designed kevlars, but also appreciate the matching team kevlars look smart. The flashiest has to be Joe Screen’s old ones, IMO. Arm tassels and a big Union Jack covering his entire back. Anders Thomsen is also worth a mention when we’re talking. His white and gold is like drug dealer sheikh.
  21. Bosses need to grow a backbone and refuse starting permission for Glasgow in the Championship imo. It's a club with a Premiership business model in place on all fronts. Under no circumstances can the Premiership take place with 5 Teams.
  22. What happened to Newcastle and Eastbourne?
  23. An excellent post. This great sport is down to its bare bones. We’re fast approaching a scenario where the Premiership and Championship resemble the old Champions League group format due to clubs dying of financial struggle. Speedway needs fresh blood on the terraces. It’s non-negotiable. It’s the only solution. If we move to an all-streaming coverage, then I fear it’ll be one of the final nails in the coffin for British speedway.
  24. Villads Nagel has a remarkable style. Probably the most all-action style I’ve seen at Ashfield. He’s looking under his handlebars with his right leg in the air coming off corners. It’s cost him a few times, but with experience, he’ll have more control.
  25. I went up to 49.13 mainly thanks to Rushen. It was higher but Harrison and Ace P dropped almost 2 points between them in the last set of GS
