I'm not questioning the efforts of the track staff, 100% kudos for their effort. Fans should not be admitted entry to the stadium until the match is declared as going ahead... this kind of thing does the sport no favours at all... just another cut to die by. Called off by the SCB, who have zero financial investment in the sport, just choosing who and when to apply their tin pot rules to.

Weren't they gonna do that years and years ago to make it the Wembley of the north ??

Every track in the country has been in this position - everything good to go and then the rain hits. The track staff worked their arses off for about 1.5 hours trying to get it raceable. Some riders were happy, some weren’t. It wasn’t a case of getting the people in and then calling it off, you could see that they were genuinely trying to get it on, but if the riders won’t play ball, what can the promotion do about it? its crap, but as said, there isn’t a track in the country where this hasn’t happened, it’s an unfortunate part of our sport.

Moron. If you'd seen the effort of the track staff you'd have seen we wanted that meeting on. And what advantage does Sheffield have from not running it? Because I can tell you now having to hire out owlerton another night isn't cheap. According to picko over intercom the ref listened to both sets of riders, some were good to give it a go and others weren't. Because they couldn't come to an agreement they've called it off.

Sums up nicely want can be achieved with the right attitude. In the UK they are basically clueless in terms of promoting, understanding what the punter wants to see, attracting the right age groups and pandering to every other European league. U K speedway needs to get a grip and recognise it is not on the same level as the likes of Poland and cut its cloth accordingly. A shortage of riders is in part down to the way the sport is run and many a promising prospect has been lost because of the speedway hierarchy and its rules. What will it take for the morons in charge to realise a radical change is needed. If you want just one reason why they have the wrong attitude, read the international thread and the topic on news from Poland where money and clout calls the tune. The current custodians of the sport in this country should be held in contempt for the damage they have done by the crass management. Nothing will change, it will simply disappear into the annals of history. Well done BSPL and co.

This is big Phil’s moment ! Sheffield out and Lynn with a return to the play offs 😂 can’t manage your own fixtures with half the season not riding at home then face the consequences! Didn’t this Shhht happen at Sheffield when other meeting at Lynn was called off the day before and everyone moaned but then people actually got to Sheffield, waiting, and got cancelled!
