Track was not good at all tonight as explained by Buster.Rained quite a bit today as my daughter rang me wondering whether it was still on as she was working in Lynn. Then the heavy downpour near 4pm put paid to any kind of racing. This definitely suited the fast gating Lions. No grip around bends 3+4 where Bomber normally makes his moves. It showed how different the track was when Kemp and NKI got the scores they did. Buster explained they they put dust down to soak up the rain water but this then left pockets in the track where some didn't soak in.The track then had most of the shale pulled off and then we was left with what we got.FTG in pretty much every race which was inevitable, just remember NKI passing Kemp.

Belle Vue v Ipswich Monday 4th August Live on TV
Col replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sheffield could find a second wind after their rejig. We'll see. Aces have been too weak at reserve all season. It's likely to be Witches v Lions final, is Becker likely to be fit? Becker's average is way above Masters' so R/R works But who are the candidates from Brummies, Spires & Stars who can guest? Considering Lions went with guest rather than R/R for KO Cup they may do the same in the playoffs. -
Birmingham v Sheffield Mon 4th August PL2

What was the verdict on Morris? Decent score, but think he was gifted some of those points? -
Whilst I enjoy watching the Lions away, it’s probably as well that TNT or BSN didn’t cover this. The Updates site suggests this was a s*it show from Lynn and wouldn’t have been worth paying to watch. Some might question The Star’s timing and choice of a T/S, but in all honesty it was always going to mean diddly squat on the meeting outcome. Although Dickson was probably quite surprised how easily Lynn rolled over, he will be keeping a close eye on their riders from here on with a view to potential guest options for the play offs. At this stage though, none of them would be worth approaching as an alternative to the continued use of R/R for Becker.

I’d have took 8 from Tom before meeting Ellis I felt a bit sorry for …. Decent first race then came up against Bewley and Kurtz … should have beaten Blodorn in heat 10 I agree but was leading heat 14 when it was stopped … on another night would have had 5 or 6 If you told me King would get 7 plus 1 from 4 I would have been happy but to think he beat Kurtz and lost to Blodorn and Mulford shows his inconsistency Doyle and Ellis low scores didn’t help us and Edwards openly admits he hates the place No work to be done we can lose by 8 at Belle Vue but still beat them at home by more so 45-45 is fantastic result Sour grapes from Lemon… the fact you had no Lidsey meant the top boys had 6 rides …

All a bit irrelevant against Belle Vue really. The name of the game here was just to make a decent fist of it because the aggregate bonus would be bagged at Foxhall. In the plays offs if the two clubs meet at any stage, I’m confident of beating Belle Vue over two legs if we stay injury free. Leicester still the bigger danger currently but have they peaked a bit early?
