Funnily enough, Kyle Howarth probably cost Workington a place in the BSN semis by taking the booking here instead of at Berwick. He would of scored way more than the 3 R/R got for Edinburgh, the Comets would have got beat at home anyways whoever guested. Plus he also didn't match what Cookie would of scored š Simon Lambert was on standby to ride at No.2 but then couldn't make it, would have ran R/R for Cook instead

Let's be fair... There isn't any real rewards for winning any UK Competition, therefore promoters see their role as just putting out a Speedway meeting.... There are only three boxes that UK Speedway feel need ticking... Riders getting the chance to earn money... Fans getting to see Speedway racing... Promoters, Referees, and the Track Volunteers, all getting to enjoy their main hobby... To measure UK Speedway against other "professional" team sports is pretty much like measuring chalk to cheese.. The irony, of course, is that the money needed to be brought in to the sport to make it "relevant" and to give it some "prestige" will never happen, as no major brands would ever associate themselves with UK Speedway given the "erratic" way it is ran, hence Competition Sponsors are usually always "in-house" and connected to the sport in some way.. What we have, is pretty much all there is, which, let's be brutally honest, isn't going to last too much longer when all the "veteran" Double Uppers start to wain or retire... (And should Poland make riders pick only one league extra to ride in, it could bring the end quicker)... Ironically, when these things happen, it actually may mean those who run the UK version of the sport do eventually, through necessity, realise that "something new" just could be required.. Edit. I will add a fourth box to be ticked.. Winning at home, with winning away not a priority box to be ticked, as it can cost too much...

No excuses today. Must win! -
As above not a case of choosing he has to or would get fined a fortune. Om sure if you ask him he would tell you heād of rather been at Berwick riding and making money than standing in the pits in Poland. You can always chip in to the thousands heād get fined for not going if he happens again seeing itās bothering you so much. š

āI want to say a big thanks to Richard Coleman and Andrew Chisholm. It has been very professional, and as everyone can probably see, there are licks of paint going up here and there. The place is clean and tidy. I can only see them taking Ipswich Speedway and speedway in general forward.ā

I believe the emergency gas repairs on the Foxhall Road / Heath Road roundabout will still be in place. There are 4 way traffic lights, so this may cause some disruption and delay to those heading to Foxhall stadium. This is why the vintage car run today has been rerouted.

Lodz changed their mind, Howarth changed his mind it's a bit of an omnishambles the only winners in this are Berwick DT lost he chose to travel to Poland for no Speedway Edinburgh lost, literally at Berwick DT's team mates lost, unlikely to progress in the BSN series, therefore the rest of the team miss 2 extra pay days The fans lost, seeing a competitive Speedway match. Even Lodz could only muster a draw, maybe if they had used DT they could have scraped a win. The guest facility is being totally abused now, as far as I know it only used to be available for injuries or official international duties... now it's a free for all, rider choosing to travel elsewhere, guest, rider going on holiday during the season for a week, guest...

Itās Ā£1 more than the Monarchs charge, and the same price Berwick and Poole charge. Yes, last week was a trial, and thatās why it was cheaper. This is the normal price. -
They would still get that 40,000 next Sunday so the economy side is irrelevant. Donāt buy the players on holiday excuse seven days after the final fixture so weāll agree to disagree there. They claim to be supportive of the Speedway in the town, but have just sh!t on it from a great height. The football is a multi million pound business that will survive regardless, the Bank Holiday fixture for the Speedway can be the difference between breaking even, or making a business loss at the end of the season. Anyway no point going over and over it the decision has been made and itās done. Pick your event Cookie!

Sure I said earlier in this thread, but we agreed this date as Dan was available as his polish club said he wasnāt needed. They then changed their mind during the week and if they call upon him he has to be there. Good news going forward however is unless they plan on using him in the 1-7 and thereās a fixtures clash in the UK they wonāt call on him to be the number 8 and allows him to ride here instead. Nice to see a polish club willing to compromise for a change.

It is equally ridiculous. Fitting in the low numbers of meetings in a 6/7 month period shouldnāt be difficult.

Basically double what it was last week, which is mental. Or was that only because last week was a trail run. Anyway probably a fairly comfortable home win as our reserves will make their no very good reserves look like Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert. -
As much as I like to see Edinburgh struggle, it benefits no one forcing a team to go into a meeting under strength. it will always come to the best interests of the sport. We had to deal with Dan, Leon and Villads missing meetings last year. I would have been fuming if we couldnāt use a facility to replace them.
