Premiership Predictions 2026
ouch replied to TheTopDrawer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Undoubtedly? Play offs every season. Two title wins. Pairs championship. SON, 2 golds & 1 bronze. Had no small contribution to GB’s FIM medals haul with Dan & Tom (and Jake). Help develop a plethora of No 1’s for the top tier to make use of. and more…… -
I know he is not in the side this year but does anyone know if Adrian Hume has recovered from his injuries, please.

Leicester Lions 2026

And so many call for this to be reigned in and for riders to go back to basics Just have 1 or 2 bikes , be frugal with the add ons and increase the service intervals But look at the abuse for Drew Kemp when he breaks down a few times........ "He needs to be more professional and up his game" "This shouldn't happen at this level" etc etc -

Only responding to the name of the thread title.Pardon me for having an opinion. -
Thanks for that. I wish that the powers that be would give some encouragement to the Midland league as well, an invaluable step for new riders. Not every one is Cooper Rushen!

In the Speedway Star a couple of years ago, in a pre season interview with Phillip Hellstrom Bangs, he said he had spent well over €100,000 on his machinery And that this is the kind of money you have to lay out to "compete"..... Yes. THAT Philip Helstrom Bangs... Number ??? In the world.....

Wee Eck replied to TheTopDrawer's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I’m not sure why Kings Lynn are being ignored in the predictions. They’ve got the top rider from last year plus Bomber, the fast Cook and Kvech, potentially the most exciting RS in the league and undoubtedly the best team manager. Buster seems to be a bit low key these days but there’s no doubt he runs a very successful business with everything that goes on at his track. -

What about Northampton?
THE DEAN MACHINE replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I was only on loan from stoke,,I did 18 meetings for them and went back to stoke in 98, as much as I enjoyed my time there, met some fantastic fans and picked up a sponsor that sponsored me for the next 20 years I can’t remember the circumstances behind the closure -
I don't know how the riders were treated but the long suffering Speedway fan was strung along and lied to, I remember the press releases at the time saying a new stadium was going to be built and all the plans were in place and the i's just needed dotting and the t's crossing. There does seem to be a long running theme running through Speedway 🤔

What about Northampton?
DaveWayne replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nobody did. Sadly, the stock car promoter was ready for retirement so allegedly gave up his remaining lease for a sweetener. Had he held out on his further year, both speedway and greyhounds could have also continued in 1998 and the administrators would have been forced to advertise it for sale as a 'going concern'. As a stock car fan I will never forgive him for this. -
Dean, I take it you had no idea it would go belly up at the end of the season?

Yes correct, the stadium was sold in early 1998 by receivers Grant Thornton and the team was forced to vacate.

That's my whole point Iain which some seem to miss. Only the brave invest in something with a long record of failure.
