  1. Past hour
  2. Haps the new owner/owners are still waited to get a No 1 signed up as rumoured earlier in the thread before putting a statement out, and when done so will then make a combined announcement regarding the new full 1-7 and who's now running Ipswich Speedway.
  3. they could of done with you on the titanic trying to cheer everyone up as they got on their life boats. 😁
  4. Hence whenver I go to watch United away, given so many more fans are in attendance than usual at those grounds that don't sell out.. Eg The Etihad .. We sing.. "Come to see United. You've only come to see United"... In Speedway terms, upon the likes of BV visiting all the current 2nd tier teams, (if there was one league), the crowd levels for their visit would be significantly higher than normal I would suggest.... The novelty would wear off, and probably quickly, but that initial visit would definitely see a decent amount more in attendance..
  5. You're spot on there, think most clubs have their diehard fans at least Scunthorpe always serves up great speedway meetings, and are always run very efficiently
  6. Most teams are now at die hard levels who will turn up regularly regardless of league position, as, for many, a "night out at the speedway" is their main reason for being there.. I would be very surprised if promoters budget for any crowd increases at all when planning in their forecasted income.. Especially given the age demographics of the vast majority of their fanbase..
  7. It’s fine the season will start when Ipswich are ready.👍
  8. Moan about budget 1-7's that lose constantly which leads to an outcry for team changes. Moan when a 1-7 doesn't have an Out an Out No.1 due to a Club balancing the books. Moan when an expensive 1-7 gets put together in regards to the costs involved. Proof is in the pudding that moaners will moan regardless. British Speedway Owners can't win unless they're are signing riders like Bartosz Zmarzlik on ÂŁ20 per point contracts.
  9. Today
  10. Superb. How is the legend Dave Pav these days TT? Also Big Ron?
  11. It's not justified at all in this case but then again you're a very Anti-British Speedway member of this forum tbh. Put out a poor 1-7 from the start and the glory hunting fans won't turn up at all. Spend the money by putting out a good 1-7 and the glory hunters will bail out as soon as the going gets tough. That's on the fickle fans.
  12. Positivity talk to me! Markus O'Markie I share your positivity! There are many great men in British Speedway who will help it shine through in 2026 and prove the doubters wrong on here! There are 4 men in particular, all great friends of mine who will bring the glory times back to the sport! they are..... Main Man Rogers - a lifelong friend and loyal associate of Terry Tibbs, what Main Man Rogers doesn't know about speedway isn't worth knowing, look at what he has done for the sport at Mildenhall, Newport and Birmingham, now he's at Buxton that place will thrive I can tell you. I have already allowed him to use Krystof Stojanowski's caravan which for many years was parked in the car park of the Smallbrook Stadium on The Isle of Wight! Now the legacy of the mighty Stojanowski can be seen as the VIP lounge at the Buxton Raceway! So many memories of that high spec model built in 1987, I got a great deal off the Haven Holiday Camp in Bembridge back in 2004, £1000 plus a lovely oil massage from my 2nd wife Bertha convinced the salesman to let it be towed from the resort that day by my Maz-za-raty! I just hope Main Man Rogers has cleaned the seats, it's been in Busty C's car park at the Arena of Norfolk for a few years and Busty, his lad Little Jonny and Big Dale Boy, hosted a party with Robert the Lyon Heart which saw several buxom wenches from Bulgaria pay a visit to celebrate Busty's new pit gate! Anyway, Terry digresses and on with my next speedway great... Jimmy Lynch - a lifelong friend and loyal associate of Terry Tibbs, what Jimmy Lynch doesn't know about Team Management isn't worth knowing, he's been on a well deserved sabbatical but he's back for 2026! watch this space as the Premier Teams are queuing up to secure Jimmy Lynch's services! Philip Morris - a lifelong friend and loyal associate of Terry Tibbs, what Philip Morris doesn't know about CEO'ing isn't worth knowing! A protégé of Terrence Tibbs, 2 years work experience as my lead valet boy at T Tibbs Motors (Europe) Limited of Chingford in the late 1990's meant he could shadow myself to gain fantastic business acumen whilst learning all about Speedway from my Assistant Director of Safeguarding Main Man Rogers! Look at Big Phil now, I remember another associate of mine Timothy Sugar telling me that lad had potential and what Timothy Sugar doesn't know about potential isn't worth knowing! Ryland Guest - a lifelong friend and loyal associate of Terry Tibbs, what Ryland Guest doesn't know about presenting isn't worth knowing! Mentored by Main Man Rogers who used to sit Ryland Guest on his knee and tell him stories about speedway that left Ryland Guest so excited about the sport he enrolled himself on The Main Man Rogers seminar on how to present a meeting and look at Ryland Guest now trusted by Damo to have the freedom of the steel city, wanted by Lemsip for the Stad de Speedway and having to turn down Busty & Dicko as he can't be in 3 places at once! The Fab Four will shine through in 2026, Marky you can mark my words! Thank you, goodnight and much looove Terence!
  13. Most fans thrive on success, and unfortunately some fans will drift away to pastures new.
  14. how much do you wanna bet crowds are bigger the better the opposition, which kills your argument. the negativity on here is very justified.
  15. Fans turn up to watch their Club, Not the opposition. I'm all for constructive criticism when it comes to British Speedway because the higher ups make a number of mistakes (Too many) but sometimes the negativity on here isn't justified imo.
  16. There has been plenty over the years but like I said I don’t begrudge the people I just don’t understand why you would take the post if you don’t bring anything to the table, personally Ive turned down a few jobs in the sport because I didn’t feel I was the right person for that role as much as I love the sport I can’t take a job in it just for the sake of it
  17. Unless it is new tracks/teams, there isn't too much that would be a surprise either way
  18. Poole Glasgow Oxford Redcar Plymouth Edinburgh Workington Berwick Scunthorpe
  19. Maybe Tony Knowles could do the Prem version?
  20. Team managers will be ordered to attire themselves in BSPL blazers once again?
  21. also in football they are entertained every other week by a different team.
  22. Anyone in particular spring to mind?
  23. Live updates from Ornskoldsvik: https://live.baansportfansite.nl/event/1142/fim-ice-speedway-world-championship-qualifying-round-oernskoeldsvik.html Race card here:
  24. Also, to be fair... In football your team is your team... You build an emotional attachment to them.. In Speedway you could have any number of "soldiers of fortune" representing you, from one meeting to the next, with your opponents doing exactly the same.. Which means often "your team" hasn't really won or lost, given they were not really there in the first place.. You also have jeopardy and consequence in football, with relegation meaning fans will still attend a failing team in numbers hoping to stave off this "disaster".. In Speedway, you can choose what league you want to ride in, and win, lose or draw, you choose your future... The bottom line is no trophy delivers enough kudos or financial rewards to take winning one too seriously, therefore many who attend do so for the racing rather than the result, thus seeing UK Speedway as "sports entertainment" rather than a bona fide professional team sport... Which is pretty much fine until admission prices keep rising to that certain level where the individual sees the entertainment value no longer justifying their outlay..
  25. its because most fans compare the current state of the sport back to a bygone era. alas its gone and will never return.
  26. As the somewhat flexible rules have now made the NDL ( really should drop the D ) somewhat stronger by including half the championship second strings and reserves is the new ‘ 5 year plan ‘ to make the NDL ( hence forth to be known as the NL ) replace the championship meaning the championship will become the new premiership as that will have disappeared by the end of this year ?
