  2. I thought that when a rider was suspended that his racing licence was suspended for whatever period of time, obviously not though is Lawson has ridden in Denmark, why would you just suspend a rider from British Speedway? ... ah yes, because it's British Speedway!
  3. I know Stan Steven’s is still with us. He loves his country and western dances still
  4. Early doors but shaping up that this could be an absolute hiding which is never good for the sport.

  9. Richard ‘Dick’ Lawson . Unbelievable attitude to the sport
  10. No idea who would be available because whilst its the only match in the UK tonight i am not clued up on foreign commitments. Based on Kings average though, i would have looked at Dan Thompson or Niklai Klindt, especially the latter, good gating and going pretty well right now.

  13. See, you have to remember that a huge amount of the regular posters were "seniors", and sadly, old age has taken it's toll. Thing is, everybody was knowledgeable, everybody wanted to learn, and everybody wanted to "discuss" things in a reasonable and friendly manner. There has been an increased number of younger members who have come on board, and love to bitch about us old'uns living in the past. Same as speedway in general, I suppose? Those of us who are still hanging on have become disenchanted by all the crap and insults posted on here. The Years Gone By section was an incredibly active section of the forum, and that's what kept a lot of us going. Now, nobody seems interested in that, which is heartbreaking. Not only is speedway history such a big part of the sport, but we can learn from the past, instead of rolling on relentlessly, repeating the same mistakes that are/were never going to work. British speedway is NOT dead. It still has a future, yet judging by the majority of comments you see on the BSF and Facebook groups, you'd think that it was dead and buried years ago. No, that was just the civility and respect that we had on this forum years ago...
  14. Lawson is riding in Denmark this evening. Scored 4 from four outings so probably won't be asking him back.
  15. ha ha very good lets hope they make a fist of it, the general mess the sports in, losing top two men and having to cobble a team together was never going to be a great starting point, I just hope the crowds don't drop off faster than a piano off a cliff and they end up jacking it in at the end of the season and cut losses.
  16. I seem to recall a fair bit of clamouring to drop Spencer, but hey ho, each to their own.
