  1. Past hour
  2. Why can't people wait? British Speedway is currently in a better place for '26 than it looked a few weeks back. We know there will be a Premiership, we already have riders confirmed. We know there will be a Championship, with some teams having already announced their full line-ups. IMO 'parlous' is going too far. Too may on here seem to feel they have a right to know information immediately, and are still being negative even though their teams will actually be racing in '26. It comes across as incredibly ungrateful, this from a person that hasn't watched his team compete competitively for 20 years. I'd love to be able to regularly watch my team.
  3. Agreed, sort of. But the costs to that rider (for example engine tuning/repair) may also be an influence, so you could just as easily blame them, rather than putting it all directly at the riders door??
  4. Sorry Wookieboy Don , I strongly disagree. In view of the parlous state of UK speedway, an interim statement should have been issued to all media channels . If nothing else to confirm that the meeting has at least taken place yesterday ! Sadly this poor PR typifies the running of the sport in the UK nowadays. A publicity opportunity lost.
  5. Are people that entitled and feel that privileged that they HAVE to know something immediately? I know how it feels for your team not to come to tapes so spare me that line...
  6. Maybe it's having to go into a second day? Not unprecedented, i think
  7. That's maybe why they've wait for the AGM 🤷‍♂️
  8. Parole Officers too, will be involved... I worked alongside them until all "time served" was spent... Curfews, Tags, etc needed to be discussed given the late hours some of my staff would work... No condoning what he did in any way shape or form, however, someone addicted to "Class A" drugs will truly do almost anything to get their hands on the money to fund their habit.. I had some truly horrific stories from lads I took on as to the depths they reached, with, to be honest, their home backgrounds and their ultimate recovery being truly humbling for me given the challenges they faced "getting clean"... There truly is an incredible "dark sub culture" in the country which, having worked with plenty of social workers too over the years, is far more prevalent than most, who live well outside this world, would ever imagine..
  9. Given that there's a real danger the current Premiership champions might not come to the tapes next year I think people are right to be impatient. Any business worth its salt would have had a holding statement ready at least by now.
  10. That would be wrong for two reasons: 1] mathematical convention 2] precedent Lewis Kerr went from 8.60 at the end of 2023 to 8.39 at the start of 2024. But this is all irrelevant if the rule is 'one rider over 8', as 8.00 is not over 8.
  11. You would think so but maybe they were waiting for the agm.
  12. Surely if he'd been signed they would of announced it tho 🤦‍♂️
  13. Ive been told its rounded down to 7.99 🤷‍♂️
  14. Yes, generally you can refuse to employ someone with an unspent conviction, as it's not considered discrimination under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. But to be fair, it would be good if such matters were judged on a case by case basis.
  15. @SteelShoe so is yours regarding the meet up and meal on Saturday 😁
  16. The meeting only happened yesterday and yet so many are complaining that no information has been released yet. Unfortunately we live in an age where you can find out anything on your phone within seconds and people now think that applies to everything in life. FFS, nobody has any patience anymore. Given how important the meeting was it's going to take a little while to collate everything together. When they want you to know what happened, then you'll find out.
  17. Maybe that is the problem is it 8 or 7.99 and as far as I know the rules have not been published on that yet.
  18. My mistake, 7.995 that really is just scraping in.
  19. Today
  20. There are certain stipulations... Working with kids isn't allowed for those convicted of sexual crimes against them for example... Riding a Speedway Bike again won't have too many stipulations I would imagine...
  21. I know integrity is something that's lacking from the BSPA, but I do believe them when they say "at least 5 clubs" - Ipswich probably tentatively agreed to run if they can't find another team to take their place. That's my assumption anyway.
  22. As far as I know as he has an unspent conviction it IS legal to refuse employment, but I may be wrong.
  23. Well.... The Epiphany has passed... And, I presume, the Three/Four/Five/(Six?) Wise Men, have returned home?.. Any news from them? Worth the long trip?... Did they bother visiting in the end?... Certainly no photos taken of them in the stable/hotel.... Nor any mention of them arriving in the various Gospels of Social Media.. I have just opened up the Bible of GB Speedway, at page one, and all it tells me is... "Lo, and so it did pass, Saint Jack Holder leadeth the way in the Land of the Convicted Ones, at the ends of the Earth"...
  24. Think louis came back from Australia with his aussie mate and got him to keep the club going
