  1. Past hour
  2. Richard Lawson should be one of the first names on the team sheet
  3. Absolutely correct, counts for nothing. Where have you been for the last 6 seasons?
  4. I get the feeling a few clubs and their promotions dictate the rules for the rest. isnt it time to reorganise the whole system with one league, team strengths, number of riders per team, number of rides per match and the riders costing clubs a fortune and giving very little in return.
  5. SCB STATEMENT: REDCAR v SCUNTHORPE (22 AUGUST) Tuesday August 26, 2025 The Speedway Control Bureau have viewed the footage of the incident between Jake Allen and Charles Wright after the conclusion of Heat 6 at the Redcar v Scunthorpe Championship fixture on Friday 22nd August 2025. It has been concluded that both Mr Allen and Mr Wright Breached Speedway Regulation 017.2 g) which reads - g) Breach of the Rules, any act which is violent, threatening or abusive nature to an Official, Rider or any other person. Due to this Breach, both Mr Allen and Mr Wright have been issued with a Cash Penalty and also a Warning of their future behaviour as per SCB Regulation 017.3 Both Mr Allen and Mr Wright have a Right to Appeal this Penalty as per Chapter 18 in the 2025 SCB Regulations.
  6. Mr Tolley said on TV interview last night that there was 'no truth in the rumour that he was taking over at Sheffield, despite some banners plus a top hat with a tiger on it'!! He did say it with a smile on his face and also emphasised that he would still be involved in speedway next year!! He also mentioned the possibility of Cradley returning in 2027!!?
  7. Today
  8. Depends if Shovvy gets stuck at an auction again. Hope he tells us more about it if he does this time. Really interesting stuff.
  9. LBW and Shovvy will have a pre match flat white dead cert!
  10. for what???? didnt allen just shut off in front of him, just an unfortunate incident
  11. Thanks for the update. Lets hope we see top class speedway once again at Brandon.
  12. He did go to see if Jake was okay. He just did another lap around the track instead of turning back. You could see what Jake's intentions were straight away when he refused the lift back to the pits from Luke Killeen.
  13. No more knowledge than anyone else I wish the tigers all the best and hope they continue, its simply down to the same rumour's you will have heard the Bates family's main business struggling and the stadium situation possibly changing.
  14. Describing that Tungate rode last night is a bit of an exaggeration. Me personally from watching on TNT is that he had no interest in riding in heat 3, hence his lack of frustration from being disqualified. If that was for Rybnik he would’ve been a lot more animated…
  15. My first year watching Speedway , 1978 Derwent Park Workington v Berwick... The smell, the speed, close to the fence within touching distance to the riders... Brian Havelock (my first favourite rider), Ian Hindle etc.. Oxo drink, meat and potato pie, Cheese crisps...
  16. Surely we ( the tiggers) can't be as bad as last time, hope to keep it close and our disappearing Dane is back for the return leg
  17. For me, speedway's real decline began when they introduced such things at double point Tactical rides and 39 point points limits. I'm not sure when that was now. Maybe around 2000-ish? These, for me, caused a big reaction, and I remember going the following season and being surprised at how much crowds had gone down as a result. I don't think the sport ever really recovered from these "adjustments". The big irony with these, if course, is that it was Ipswich (the team that everyone now sees as the powerhouse strong side) that were very influential in such things being brought in because they were struggling with weak sides. Nowadays I struggle to get through a meeting on the TV. I'm sure that losing my team (Swindon) has a part to play in this, but I really do look at the sport on a Monday night and wonder why it is so boring. Is it just my own interest dropping off, or has it genuinely become that? I grew up loving speedway, and going to Swindon, Oxford and Reading where huge crowds would bait each other and the atmosphere would thrive on it. I guess I blinked and the World changed.
  18. Annoys the hell out of me this does! And we get to see quite a lot of this with Drew Kemp at Leicester, even if you're not going full bore at the back you should at least be on the pace(ish) at the back, who knows what's going to happen to the riders in front during the rest of the race... it shows a really poor mental attitude.
  19. To be accurate. As it stands today, no Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) has been placed on Brandon Stadium, but campaigners have urged Rugby Borough Council to pursue one or adopt similar supporting actions to regain control of the site from the owner, Brandon Estates
  20. And on a related point. If we're getting nostalgic, I don't remember, back in the day, riders pulling up just because they are at back. Bona fide attempt to race? Pulling up on lap 2 and then riding back to the pits after the race has finished! It annoys the hell out of me. There was even examples of this on show last night at Perry Bar. In former times I can remember meetings taking place on wet circuits that would never take place now. Riders would get filled in and then complete their 4 laps, well off the place, without goggles. I think I'm a dinosaur. P.S. I don't watch much league racing in Poland. Do riders "pack up" at the back there? I suspect the Polish managements wouldn't put up with it.
  21. I remember Rick Miller at Coventry ending up in a race on his own when the other 3 were all excluded. He completed the 4 laps but was showboating with wheelies etc. He, himself, was then excluded for not making a bona fide attempt to race. You couldn't make it up.
  22. Prediction wise I'd say 50-40. No way will Glasgow be that bad again, plus a bit of rain around today and tomorrow so track should be better. Teams Poole (TM Neil Middleditch) 1 Richard Lawson 2 Tobias Thomsen 3 Lewis Kerr 4 Zach Cook (Capt) 5 Anders Rowe 6 Paul Starke 7 William Cairns Glasgow (TM Cameron Brown) 1 Chris Harris (Capt) 2 Fraser Bowes (Guest) 3 Dan Thompson 4 Leon Flint 5 Kyle Howarth 6 Dayle Wood 7 Freddy Hodder
  23. I asked this on another thread several weeks ago but you ignored it, so I will try again. You keep mentioning 'doubts over Sheffield' but with no detail or substance. Can you please us what you think you know as you seem to be the only person mentioning it ?
