  1. Past hour
  2. I wish I had your outlook on life as you must be so easy to please. You probably found the parade extremely exciting as well? @TheWellBehavedWorrall Could type up scripture off the back of this post. Complete and utter delusion but whatever makes you happy I suppose.
  3. Very impressed with Rushen Have seen plenty of reels featuring his races so already knew the sort of talent he has shown The biggest sign of his skills though was his control when he ran into trouble off turn 4 That takes an instinct that can't really be taught and is the kind of tiny margin that can make the difference between being a good rider and a great one Too early to be labelling him a future world champion but certainly has the raw potential to be eyeing tha world stage level
  4. You cannot possibly believe that Tobias, Anders and Paul are 'gaters'?! As I've said before, there were some terrific exciting races on Wednesday - as there is every week at Poole - even though not much passing this week on a very smooth track. Close racing can be just as exciting as one with passing, more so if the home team get a heat advantage. Hence very decent attendances every week. As for any further comments, I'll pass........!
  5. All the lads who rode at Ipswich last night should be riding in the championship full time and not used as fodder for a declining Premiership. Perhaps the loss of TV money will radically change how U.K. speedway is set up.
  6. Poole fans are a weird and strange collective that can’t debate a topic …. Always going on the defensive and unable to have a discussion Nobody is saying that you shouldn’t prepare the track for your own side And at the end of the day it is about winning but surely just one Poole fan could admit the truth which is ‘ I’m glad we won but the racing was awful’ …. Instead you get the morons like Shovlar telling us it was an exciting meeting… Nobody dislikes Poole for winning just the numpty supporters Oh and the final at Ipswich this year had controversy … Emil not starting … Brennan and Douglas … King and Masters … Doyle and Howarth … 9 passes in 15 races including an exceptional effort from Fricke in heat 13 I know us at Ipswich don’t have the best track but I’ve watched Poole 4 times this season and each time it’s abysmal Poole have signed a team of gaters with the exception of Thomsen so they will make the track slick and no chance of passing
  7. If that’s aimed at me Neil you couldn’t be more wrong. I am 110% behind the Pirates. I just don’t think we are going to get a 5-1 every heat. Rob’s coming around with a few beers at 7 and we will be cheering on the Pirates this evening. If we come up short, I will happily congratulate Glasgow on their title.
  8. Interesting to note that BSN have put up their prices by £2 tonight. Usually £12.99, tonight £14.99.
  9. Well the premier league have got round it by now allowing all manner of middle eastern super rich rich and effectly state owned entities to control clubs, however the European superleague was all about the next step as they keep reaching for the sky in terms of more money and more more more. What we really need in the PL is for a big team to get relegated and go bust that way the message about sustainability etc might finally get through. As it is if you drop out of the premier league football generally at grassroots is thriving as a lot of fans have given up on the PL and Championship etc - more and more tourists fans fill premier league stadiums. I am also sure i read somewhere that the first league football match to be played outside of the leagues country is happening - it might be a Spannish or Italian league match. My local football team are Hallam FC in the Northern Premier East Division and the other day they had 1004 fans fo a saturday afternoopn game v Emley - they have certainly picked up disillusioned fans from Wednesday!
  10. No what i meant was 7 riders plus Rushen who is obviously above at national league rider
  11. Today
  12. I can agree with that, it's a far bigger issue than doubling-up. R/R should be mandatory if one rider in the top 5 is missing for a start. In the top league it should be easy enough to replace a reserve with someone who only has a Championship spot or even unattached which would be a good opportunity to put themselves in the shop window. The term 'guest' should be dropped in that scenario as well. Something like 'injury loan' or 'emergency loan' sounds better.
  13. I've arrived in Glasgow 🐯 WE WILL PROVE THE DOUBTERS WRONG! U know who you are! 🕵️ C'mon the Boyzzz ☠️ 💪
  14. Second last. Sheffield would get last pick under current rules. Let’s see what the 2026 structure brings. May not even see rising stars.
  15. Ipswich would have last pick if they changed the RS spot
  16. To be fair to TNT/Eurosport you can't blame them for the failure to explain a a "guest rising star" taking a "rider replacement ride" properly!
  17. Won't say exact figures - but no surprise to say It is/was an amount that no Premiership club could do without!!
  18. If Poole win overall, then Glasgow fans will give credit where credit is due and congratulate them as deserved winners. I was at Poole on Wednesday and had great chats with the NID crew, I hope tonight's meeting is a cracker, befitting of a grand final and no matter the outcome, a good time has been had by all. Regroup and go again next season.
  19. Glasgow need to be very worried. As Poole have already beaten them on their own soil this year 47 - 43.
  20. I think most people just don't like 'winners', it feels like a very British mentality. I'm old enough to remember when Glasgow had the likes of Lee Dicken carting around a dusty, shack of a stadium and nobody gave a toss about them on here. Everyone has always disliked Poole so you'll need to find someone older than me for a view on that! What the Facennas have done to Glasgow - as a club, track, team - is incredible really, and it shows what's possible when someone with a decent business mind and a lot of money can achieve (even if Glasgow fans can get precious about the money bit). They haven't just tarted up a downtrodden stadium, they've practically reinvented the sport in Glasgow to some degree - the increase in fans is testament to that. In terms of Poole, I'd love to know their secret. I don't imagine they're paying buttons, but equally, they're on for a treble with riders like Tobias Thomsen and Lewis Kerr, hardly hidden gems. I think it's a combination of their winning mentality and a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy (win more > attract good youngsters/better riders > etc. > etc).
  21. Well done to Jake on a fine win though I question his participation in an event pitched for U19 when first advertised. Jake isn’t even the youngest Ace being fifth in age order and when you add in our Colts there where others best suited to have a shot at the “prize for winning is a sort of scholarship with Ipswich to give them a hand with advice from riders and mechanics. A one-on-one training session and that sort of thing”. Ipswich though need commending for staging an event like this and I hope it will lead to a junior team in the coming seasons. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/miscellaneous/witches-announce-u19-plan/
