  2. When selling/buying a business as a going concern the balance sheet, although interesting is not the prime consideration. “Operating profit” is the figure used to value a business i.e the profit made before accounting for interest and tax. In some instances depreciation is also excluded. Depending on the likely growth prospects a multiplier of between 4x (poor) & 8x (good) of the operating profit would be used to value the business. Using your calculation, it would appear Louis is asking £200k for his business so using a moderate 6x multiplier it would indicate an annual profit (before tax & interest) of £33k. This would yield a gross return of 16.6% on the £200k investment which appears about right considering the state of UK speedway and the risk of investing in a volatile industry.
  3. Today
  4. I remember going to a meeting at Newport after the Cardiff GP and he had a big off going into the solid fence off turn 4 back first, don't think he was the same for a while after that.
  5. brilliant used to watch that when i came home from school to have my dinner. used to walk to school a mile in morning a mile back for home cooked dinner, mile back to school , then mile back home for tea, then play outside till 9 clock. them were the days used to dream about being a speedway rider, hated the school bit though.
  6. If not Klima then how about Declan Kennedy (4.63) at number 6?
  7. Hope so, it will be about time they showed some consideration to the fans.
  8. Hope you’re right, been a long ass process for decisions to be made and communicated!
  9. Would prefer that “around the corner” to be by the end of this week. Need to know if I’m buying a season ticket at Sheffield or spending the ££ elsewhere 🤞
  10. Have a feeling today’s the day when a lot of questions will be answered for the Premiership and its clubs
  11. Sounds like we're already halfway there, just need to change to daytimes.
  12. More chance on finding an NHS dentist than getting the British Speedway fixtures before March 2026
  13. More to the point, will they have any riders ?
  14. 1. Danny King 8.60 2. Tobias Thomsen 4.81 3. Ben Barker 6.13 4. Joe Thompson 5.87 5. Scott Nicholls 7.88 6. Daniel Klima 4.00 7. 2.71 Left Could go for a new 2.00er or someone like Darryl Ritchings, Jack Smith or Max Perry as the number 7.
  15. I think the obvious is Ben and Klima with a random 2 pointer. Means Klima or Tomsen will be reserve.
  16. If they went with Kye & Paco, I'd kinda like Connor Coles to get a chance. Don't see him getting a team spot anywhere else on a 3.25 ave, but as there's not an obvious stronger choice if they go that route, maybe give him a second tier lifeline?
  17. If my maths is right that would leave 8.5 to play with but we could only use 7.99 of that? The high 7s riders will be in huge demand this season. Paco plus a higher averaged reserve than Wood might be a better route?
  18. Yesterday
  19. One thing I can definitely say from a sales point of view if you like is that with any tv deal, the term ' subject to availability' really does a strong sense of meaning 😄
  20. Hopefully Kye comes back, Dayle at 6 and a new face in the main body.
  21. He was classy and quick, but didn't seem to handle pressure very well. My memory is that he generally didn't do well in heat 15 and all his bad matches seemed to be against Edinburgh
  22. Just guessing but Triple H is an English teacher...... right? Well I'm dyslexic and these things happen get over it... at least you understood what I meant.
  23. IainB it’s past your bedtime. Get up that wooden hill.
