  1. Past hour
  2. No excuse for that performance tonight, it was woeful but it kind of didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, the council again proving they are tossers, shutting the doors and turning people away after 1500 fans, saw lots of old faces there tonight, where have you been all year ? Really felt like where do we go from here as a sport ? And at this point I don’t know and I don’t have the faith in the people running it either, it really felt like a funeral tonight and not just for Birmingham speedway
  3. Speedway peaked a long time before 2000. The decline started way before that.
  4. He was planning to, but travelling up whilst injured to sit in the pits didn’t take his fancy. Fitting end to watch Andy Grahame take some final laps after the meeting.
  5. This brings back a lot of teenage memories for me. Speedway peaked between 2000 - 2015. The decline started when Matt Ford shafted Coventry and Peterborough.
  6. A huge shame that the Brummies have gone out with such a whimper. A complete disgrace from Musielak tonight who retired in three of his five rides. Also a disgrace from him & Zagar not to come out with the rest of the team to applaud and say goodbye to the fans. Wank3rs.
  7. Likewise when Chick and Peter T opened up Arena we’d have the Easter 4s matches - v Hackney V Rye H and Eastbourne - usually the Hackney and Arena matches would be on the same day with Rye on the Saturday and Eastbourne on the Sunday! Later on there would be the Good Friday double header with the Witches I think Lynn had dropped down? So it would be Foxhall in the lunchtime start and then down to Arena for the Evening - I know one year they reported 3k at Foxhall and 1900 at Arena let’s just say I am convinced they were under reported!!!
  8. It deffo happened. There is a few I’ve seen comment that they was turned away because it was sold out
  9. Personally I don't have a problem with it, as long as there is a club at a decent level and it's competitive, that'll do me. We had a pretty successful time in the CL under Mr Dickson and none of the fans were asking to move up to PL on a Thursday/Monday night as shown with the drop in crowds.
  10. then the 2 teams who dont make the play off can have there own play off for the wooden spoon 🤣
  11. Today
  12. What about Leicester Iain? I heard on a podcast the other day that they are considering whether to stay in the Prem or not. Sounds a bit like Poole at the end of 2019.
  13. Absolutely spot on.😉It was the appointment of others who haven't a clue!!!!🙄
  14. It's not an us and them situation like it used to be with the BL & NL now though, it's one association
  15. This was alluded to by Jason Edwards - he said where was team spirit at Ipswich you don’t get at other clubs - of course some will say he was saying that as he’s got a vested interest in saying that - which I don’t believe actually!
  16. Ride with 6 teams it’s pretty simple. This year was only 6 teams anyway 😂 Birmingham didn’t do anything did they. And no relegation from the league so it doesn’t matter having 6. Less teams might be better, take the point scoring for match making away and let anyone get the best team then can with the most top riders. Probably bring in more crowds than more league teams just having one or two GP stars.
  17. Unfortunately today’s clubs are made up of individual riders who have little concept of team representation but ride simply to make a living from whoever opens the wallet and squanders cash on some mercenary gate and go merchants. Speedway in the UK should stop pretending to be a team sport, it made up of individuals seeking a living and it will never go back to the halcyon days of a team sport. Birmingham played its part but alas it got swallowed up in the shambles that is today portrayed a league of teams which is a joke. Birmingham and its backers gave it the best they could but were never going to be a success in the contrived farce that is league racing in this country. Birmingham, hold your head up as a contributor, you did make a difference.
  18. Personally let the so call Premiership get on with it .The Championship will survive in it’s present form. Haven't a clue how the Premiership get out of their situation .
  19. If it’s a championship level and averages then Ipswich would probably say bye bye along with the supporters 😂 what a way to kill speedway in one swoop.
  20. If it's one league prob be at championship level, so good luck fitting all them in 😂
  21. Could have stuck them on the dog track on the back straight like the the first meeting back in 2007. What could possibly have gone wrong? 😱
  22. Did you expect it to be close?🤭Very clearly most of the home riders weren't up for it,but it has been like that for more than a few years now unfortunately.Had the opportunity tonight to leave the stage with a bang but the home riders had other ideas!!Shameful end!!!!🤬
  23. Surely that's not correct, Perry Barr can hold a decent crowd and just because its a few over is neither here nor there, and who counts them ?.
