  1. What relevance is Matt Ford? The guy is part of the reason British Speedway is dying. Yeah, great in the short (even medium term) for Poole but when the EL is left with just Poole riding against themselves every week, then what?

So Workington have signed Klindt on a converted Premiership averages, not his 2016 PL(now Championship) averages. So whos rights? Workington or Lakeside?

    Swindon 2018

Second, he raced for Poole the year before. I seem to remember he rode about 2 meetings, got injured was replace by Andy Smith (as Grachan says) and Swindon kept Smith allowing KK to return to Poole when he was fit

    Poole 2018

So Matt Ford announced Kasper Woryna, forgets hes announced his signing and asks why people think hes signing and then signs Kasper Woryna. What a lying twit. Anyway, Poole fans, I can predict Februarys signing, it's Brady Kurtz!

As I often say, theres a few who should retire then as they're not very entertaining. Who do I send the list to so they give up?

    Somerset 2018

Lets see, Chris Holder, career on a downward projectory since his nasty injury, also has a major attitude problem - can't see many wanting him, so if he wants to ride here he'll have to take whats offered. Jack Holder, major attitude problem (hence Matt Ford slagging him off, althought not by name, last season), thinks he's already Gods gift to speedway despite having achieved very little so far apart from tester of safety equipment as he ends up on his arse and in the fence a lot Jason Doyle - Most teams have obvious 8+ candidates, between Lynn and Somerset. Again, if he wants to ride here, the options are not great. But I'll admit Lynn seems more likely to me, especially if Lambert is off. In short, I'm really not seeing why either of the Holders are worth that much. I certainly wouldn't pay much for either

Why should NL riders make money? None of my hobbies make me money. Very few people have hobbies that make money. Why do speedway riders at amateur level think they should make money? Look at the cost of a car to go autograss racing and then look at the money that is made doing autograss racing and then tell me that NL riders are being hard done by if they're made to ride for £20 a point!
  11. There was a time the bookies were very naive when it come to speedway. They were offering 300/1 on Coventry to win the league in May 2010
  12. Me placing a HUGE bet on Peterborough to lose a meeting, and then paying Ged Rathbone £28,000 to not let his top rider ride? I make my millions from the bookies, Ged makes his £27,000 (£28,000 minus a £1000 ACU fine) and the other team get a win. We all go home happy (apart from the bookie and nobody likes them) Surely this taking a bung to weaken teams opens up the floodgates to all sorts of betting scandals, potentially.

    Speedway Music

Sums up speedway. You're on here wanting for some marching music. Watch how ice hockey does it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ee_h0kMa5MI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L3o-gmEMPk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpYHF684dbs Yet speedway thinking marching out the track staff to marching music and bringing the rider around in front of the main stand to wave at the crowd is the way forward Ive said it before and its worth repeating. Ive been in a TV studio when the Pointless tower has dropped (many times!) and it does nothing, sure it looks OK but no excitement. Ive been in there with lighting working and its alright,Ive been in their with just sound and pretty good. Now put the tower dropping on graphics, put the light on and the sound, then throw in the audience and suddenly that quite an experience. Now they didn't randomly pick some music for the tower, the lights don't flash ad-hoc etc. It's all built to work together. Speedway just doesn't get this. We have a show coming up in early summer that is basically the contestant stood in what I can best describe as a big roulette wheel (think wall of death split into segments) and when the lighting, sound and graphics all work it's bloody amazing! Speedway would think some graphics alone works. When people are coming in and before the meeting the music should be a bit jolly and nice (not Procol Harum a whiter shade of pale which seems to be a favourite of speedway tracks! - despite being a good song IMO) but things like Shine by Take That. Then the intro should start with the lights going down and the music building up to something jumping, loud and with a good beat (not Rocking Robin or the Boys are back in town) and FFS don't stop the truck to get the riders to wave at the crowd on the home straight. And once it's over don't wait 10 minute for the first race. The riders for heat 1 should have their bikes parked up by the start gate so having just worked everyone up you get on with heat 1. As soon as the ehat is over start smashing out a song that encourages people to clap, cheer and move rather than calmly fill in their bloody programme! (on that note. scrap programmes and in stead have the score updated in real time on an app on people phone and have a score board) But no, keep playing bland, boring songs that rather than whipping people up into a frenzy remind people of the nice times and make them want to go to sleep or cry

Suggestions that Morley and Zach will ride on previous PL/Championship averages dont make sense. If that rule still existed then Kennett could ride Championship.
  16. Just a bit of fun but how many future GP riders have various Premier League (now Championship) teams had? Which promoters saw good in riders? Newcastle have had Nicki P, Bjarne Pedersen and Kenneth Bjerre. Any advances on 3? I can think of a few on two. Can any NL team claim to have had more than 1? I doubt it as only Woffy, Bomber and Darcy Ward have raced NL AFAIK (Scunny, St Austell and Boston)

    Speedway Music

This week Spotify gave me a review of the music I listened to this week. Quite a bit of 70s and 80s stuff (not so ouch 60s stuff). I listen to it myself. BUT its not going to get the kids in. The sport needs to drag itself out of a bygone era. Tbh, the decade isnt so much the issue. Its more the fact speedway loves playing easy listening, quite, low tempo music. It should be loud, fast and exciting. At one time, Newport used to play the same Now CD on a loop. Ffs. The music should be picked to set the tone, to get people excited, to keep people excited, to build tension.

Absolutely anything that is slow paces and from the 60s or 70s. Can't be having anything that gets people excited.

    A Very Short Season

In 2009, heat 15 of Coventry vs BV was run in a torrential downpour. The result was settled so was a pointless heat in many respects but the race was run with KK gating for BV and the two Bees, Harris and Nicholls passing him and getting a 5-1.

More myths and lies in there than at a UKIP confernece! People are more productive these days than ever before. Christ, in the 70's people were on strike every week. As for the "poor on state pension" line, the fact is that OAPs now have more disposable income than 18-35 year olds. No doubt here are exceptions, there are to both but if you're going to group people together you have to take averages. There are plenty of people in the World who can't afford to feed and heat themselves, should all people therefor get free speedway? I've never paid 55k for a car, never said I have either. So thats an out and out lie. And I may have a few ££ more than the average OAP but I know that most of my peers have less than the average OAP and I see OAPs constantly milking off them when they don't need it! Free bus passes TV licenses, heating allowances, don't pay the bedroom "tax" so they get to rattle around in big houses on their own after their kids have moved out. Yet they have more in the bank than people trying to start families who are stuck squashed in flats and earning less than the OAP yet they're expected to pay more for their speedway. Brilliant.

    A Very Short Season

Ive been to too many meetings (more fool me) where it has been drizzling all afternoon, the meeting has started in drizzle and then low and behold you get to heat 8/10/12 (whatever is needed for no money back) and we're told, "Tracks to wet to carry on", well the rain had got no worse and was only doing what was forcast. By doing that, all they do is make people like me refuse to go now if the weather even looks slightly dodgy. They're killing the support by ripping them off. I remember in times gone by watching racing in the actual rain, not just a wet track. But racing, in the rain!

    A Very Short Season

They need to clamp down on meeting being postponed for anything but an act of god TBH. And even then if it raining at start time, you can't be allowed to call a meeting off once it started.
  24. Lebdevs you're right, I was being a bit flippant but Zagar won't be in the qualifiers, so in reality I could name about 20 Brits ahead of anything Slovenia could send.

And why should "everyone else" take responsibility for paying for old people? Why do "you expect the rest of us to pay for" them?
