Round Two Of Polski Speedway

Recommended Posts

The second round of meetings is upon us for the Polish Leagues. In a strange fixture swap, the Polish Leagues are operating on Easter Monday, possibly in exchange for the Good Friday fixtures of Britain. It also means the Elite League Riders Championship remains strong. There is one clash of Coventry versus Peterborough and Ostrow have said there are going to PK. We had some extremely freak results at the weekend and it will be interesting to see if that was just 'blowing the cobwebs' from the bikes.

On Saturday, we do have Rynbik taking Torun in a re-arranged fixture and I think it may well be the case in Liga II having re-arranged fixtures.

Monday's Meetings go like this:

E-LIGA

Bydgoszcz V Leszno (Polonia looking for a good home start)

Czectochowa V Rynbik (Surely, some points for the Lions)

Tarnow V Rzeszow (Local Derby!)

Torun V Wroclaw (Sparta to keep on destroying)

LIGA 1

Krosno V Gniezno (Can Gniezno continue their great start)

Grudziadz V Lublin (Things can only get better for Grudziadz surely)

Gorzow V Ostrow (Gorzow need to recover and Ostrow are set to track 3 foreigners)

Zielona Gora have a rest

Few notes from Tarnow before the long awaited start of the season on the home track. And we start with even more awaited e-league derby between local rivals Tarnow and Rzeszow, after long 7 years. The rivalry will heat up once again.

One problem is the track condition in Tarnow. We did not have many dry days after the winter and now we had rain for few days. I spoke with Tarnow coach yesterday and he said that the track is liquid now, and he is full of worries. We need next days to we warm and sunny if we want to have the track prepared for the match. Otherwise it will be a struggle for both teams. Weather sucks this year.

Compared to the lineup in Leszno, Lukas Dryml will be replaced by Stanislaw Burza. It was set before, but in addition we got news that Lukas was injured last night in Prague so Burza will be riding in all coming matches.

Rzeszow announced their lineup for the Monday match and it goes like this:

1. Nicki Pedersen

2. Tomasz Rempała

3. Tomasz Chrzanowski

4. Dariusz Śledź

5. Rune Holta

6. Dawid Stachyra

As number 7 we can expect Pawel Miesiac, and under 8 Andriej Karpow. I woonder if Tomek Rempala will be replaced by Maciej Kuciapa. Probably.

Tarnow preliminary lineup has been also announced:

9. Tomasz Gollob

10. Stanislaw Burza

11. Jacek Gollob

12. Janusz Kolodziej

13. Tony Rickarsson

14. Kamil Zielinski

15. Pawel Hlib

16. Marcin Rempala

Looking at the teams for todays meetings, I see that Denis Gizatullin has been left out of the Rybnik squad again.

From the few clips that I have seen of him, he looks to be one of the most exciting riders from Russia at the moment. I was really looking forward to see how he coped with the step up to EL racing.

Does anyone know if Rybnik just don't rate him very highly, or does he have other commitments in Russia this weekend?

Henry, not sure where you saw the teams, but i would trust the sportowefakty teams about as much as you trust subedei B)

It lists both Smoli and Hefenbrock.Think Smoli won't be riding anywhere for a few days after his crash yesterday and Hefe.....will he be riding for Wolves tonight?

I do know the Russian league starts in 2 days time.If they have anything else on at the moment, not sure

Lol...It seems you were right not to trust the sportowefakty site, which was where I had seen the teamsheet.

This has now been updated to show Denis racing at number 1 for Rybnik this evening.

For the record, I trust subedei implicitly...
