World Under 21 Semi Final At Rye House!

Recommended Posts

Well! Not been to Rye House for a month! Have had great pleasure in watching Sparks play all of there 21 albums in 21 nights! Brilliant! Have now gone down with man flue, BIG TIME! But a typical guy that I am, as most guys do we carry on regardless, don’t we! I’m not going to let a little thing like flue get me down, even though spent all day yesterday in bed, too much detail, sorry. Anyway if you see a guy coughing, sputtering and looks half-dead that’ll be me, so keep clear of the starting gate area if you want to stay well.

Really am looking forward to this one, weather forecast is maybe a shower this afternoon, but will that dampen the spirit of a fantastic little club? Run by the only real promoter left in speedway. Len Silver and his crew has transformed Rye House in 7 years to a fantastic stadium and a good little track. The Rye House bashers, please don’t bother “quotes” on that please, you’re becoming boring

Good luck to the Brits today, especially young Mr Woffinden.

No predictions but wouldn’t it be great to see a Brit 1 2 3

Thanks Inspector71 and Bryn for the weather reports, have to do some gardening first and then walk the dog but after that we will be on our way. Please let us know if there are any changes.

No changes, still a lovely day.

Absolute man of the trenches Paul, to drag yourself to SPeedway after suffering the dreaded Man Flu, some of my work colleagues could learn a thing or two from yourself.

Good luck to the Brits, and to Tai Woffinden until he defects in the future!

arrived about 20 mins ago and already a good crowd in attendance. Just like to wish all riders the best and hope the best riders on the day progress unscathed.

Just got back home. Congratulations to Troy Batchelor on a very professional performance, though it was one hell of an epic battle in heat 19. Tai had to come through past Holder not once but twice, but was neck-and-neck with Batchelor from the last bend through to the line, only to see Troy just pull ahead by a nose at the finish. Race of the season down here and worth the entrance on its own! :P

And just to repeat for SS's benefit - Tai beat Chris Holder from the back! :approve::wink:

As for the rest:

Risager lost out to Holder for 3rd place but didn't really look too inspired

Eklof rode a fine race to beat Holder first time out but never did anything else

Bridger left it very late, 2 points at the interval but then won his two races to qualify in the second half, including a victory over Tai

Auty and Proctor had a couple of tasty rides from reserve

Zengota and Lindgren weren't too bad, both doing better than Gustaffson - maybe worth a shot for a PL place?

And spare a thought for Kim Nilsson of Sweden. His match lasted less than 100 yards, by which time he fell and brought down Bridger and Lawson. He was carted off in the ambulance and never reappeared, poor lad.
