Always good for a laugh these threads about the British WC.This years looks to be one of the funniest ever at this rate

True mate . Why does there have to be a British rider in it - if they're not good enough at the moment - then too bad . There will be the British Champion to fly the flag at Cardiff to appease Sky and the patriotic fans , but no British rider has done enough to deserve a place in the series proper .

Much as it pains me to say it on performance this year I would have to say Lee Richardson, I would have loved to say Tai but as other's have said I'm not sure with what is going on in his personal life 2010 would be the year for him to take on such a hard role.

If there has to be a British permanent wild card then it should be the reigning British Champion

It's time for some new blood where the Brits are concerned, and it has to be Tai to get the wild card over any of the rest. The old guard have had their chance, and apart from Bombers victory in 2007, they haven't given us much to shout about. With the exhuberance of youth, Tai will bring a fresh expectancy, and he is proving in and around Europe, he can beat the top riders on a regular basis. It's a no brainer for me.

It isn't all about capability, generating income plays its part. Cardiff being the biggest of them all, will not be the same without a Brit,like it or lump it. With Tai in the series, I guarantee the attendances at all the GPs will be up.

On averages, Richardson 8.66, Harris 8.44, Kennett 8.03, Nicholls 7.88 and Woffinden 7.47 are the top five, but next season, will Tai be 1.19 behind Richardson in the averages .... or 1.19 ahead of him !!

 

 

Emil at 19 is not too young and Tai is the outstanding British talent that should be given the chance ahead of the others.

If the arguement is what Brit is going to get a wildcard, then I agree 100%. He will be the one that is most likely to increase attendances at all the GPs, which is surely not lost on the FIM.

Well for my input i would still say Scott Nicholls. But if he doesn't want the GP's anymore then i would say either Lee Richardson or Eddie Kennett.

Nothing against Nicholls, but why would you give a nomination to a rider who has failed time after time on the GP stage? The same could be said for Bomber over the last two series - neither will enhance the GP in 2010.

 

Personally I think that Tai needs one more season before he is ready. Fair enough Richardson has failed at this level before, but he has had a break form the GP's and seems to be riding better than ever in all countries. He desereves one more shot at it.

Got to admit Im finding it hard to come up with a reason to give any Brit rider a Wild Card for next season.Just because we have proably the biggest GP doesnt mean we have a right to a certain amount of riders.
