Dudley V Mildenhall

Tuesday August 02, 2011

DUDLEY Heathens will parade their National League Fours Championship trophy in front of their own fans at Monmore Green tonight (Tuesday).

The former Cradley club face fellow play-off chasers Mildenhall in a vital National League clash which both sides need to gain something from.

And before the meeting the club will show off the silverware they won at Stoke on Saturday after a stunning display.

Boss Will Pottinger said: “It was a very special night on Saturday and our fans deserve the chance to see the trophy.

“But we also have a big meeting on our hands and we cannot afford to lose sight of that. Mildenhall are a good side now they have strength at reserve in Cameron Heeps who has been scoring well everywhere.”

Adam Roynon makes his league return after three months out with a thigh injury and Richard Franklin moves to reserve with Darryl Ritchings promoted to the main body of the team.

And everyone who buys a programme will also be handed a free team print of the Heathens celebrating their Fours glory.

HEATHENS: Jon Armstrong, Darry Ritchings, Tom Perry, Ashley Morris, Adam Roynon, Richard Franklin, Adam Portwood.

MILDENHALL: Jack Hargreaves, Mark Baseby, Daniel Halsey, Joe Jacobs, Lewis Blackbird, Aaron Baseby, Cameron Heeps.

Thanks for that Kev. It has to be said, Cameron Heeps sounds absolutely mustard! 15 years old? He seems one hell of a prospect. Seems an exciting rider too and an out and out racer. Taking Roynon from the back on a track he's never seen or ridden before is impressive.

Yes thank you for the link, am enjoying the commentary

Great night for the Fen Tigers :approve:

Shame about the disgusting cheering from the Dudley fans when Blackbird fell and for Jacobs spill after heat 14 - could hear alot of cheers clearly on the radio :nono: Not a good advert for Dudley i'm afraid

well done mildenhall best team on night by far,but cant help thinking they are a wee bit dirty, examples heat 9 when morris was blatantly taken out by blackbird and heat 11 when hargreaves seemed to shut off the power in front of roynon in heat 11,and going back 1 week to the hammer meeting hargreaves was excluded for unfair riding in one heat and in his next race tried to put ritchings on the dog track, but hey i guess thats speedway, well done once again mildenhall.

Just back from a fantastic away trip!

Have to say Rick I didn't hear anything untoward, and to be fair Lewis Blackbird had somewhat assumed the role of 'pantomime villian'after his antics in heat 11. There was nothing malicious to be honest just good natured banter.

The three of us stood amongst a group of Dudley supporters throughout the evening and they were to a man, friendly, knowledgeable, humourous and very gracious in defeat :approve: They were a credit to their club and hopefully we can both reach the play offs and meet again :approve:

Cameron Heeps was very special tonight, its hard to believe he is just 15 years old, his bike control, speed, and passing ability are a joy to watch. He was beaten just the once in seven rides, by Tom Perry in a brilliant race in heat 12 that was as good s you will see anywhere, a very courageous ride by Perry to keep ahead of the ever pressing Heeps.

Captain Hargreaves had his best meeting for Mildenhall and decent support was received from Baseby, Jacobs and Blackbird.

For Dudley Perry was very impressive, and Franklin never gave up all night. It was good to hear that Ashley Morris was up and walking about in hospital before we left.

All in all a night to remember in the Midlands for a decent contingent of Mildenhall supporters!

Must be the performance of the NL season from Heeps. Personally I think he's showed how good he is tonight & shown he is ready for PL next year.

So glad people who support NL teams have had or will have the chance to see him.

bravo philk nice to see someone comment on what they SAW instead of what they heard on a radio lol congratulations on a well deserved win..heeps..wow..not 16 yet and rode monmore like a veteran  we are woefully weak at the moment at no7 and this may ultimately cost us a playoff place but even so we have had a great run so far, will be interesting to see what scunfeild do in the next few weeks and who will be their res into the playoffs ;) nice to see some travelling support from you guys too and the tiger roar at the end was earned by your team..well done and good luck :t:
